Nauseous and cramped

Hi!
I'm about 6 weeks pregnant! I'm constantly nauseous, which makes me really anxious... sometimes I also get cramps at the same time. Often at night, which means I've been sleeping poorly for nights now. I want to ask the midwife for something to help with the nausea... any tips from you all?

Just to add; had an internal ultrasound today and the little heart was beating! Really beautiful to see. But because of the symptoms, I can't enjoy it at all I also don't dare to talk much about the pregnancy in case something goes wrong.... I've been up all night!

Oh, that's really annoying. Just ask your GP for a pill for nausea. I had that too, and then you get through the day a bit better!!

Nausea is pretty normal in the first few months. Can you keep most of your food and drinks down? So you don't lose too much weight or get dehydrated. It's a bit of trial and error to find what helps with your nausea; sometimes it's light, easy-to-digest foods. For me, it was sweet/sour pickles. The cramps are probably from your uterus growing and your ligaments slowly stretching. Some people get them faster than others. Nice to hear that the heartbeat is there; that already reduces the biggest risk of miscarriage. It's still a bit suspenseful, but at least the heartbeat is there.

Thank you! I can keep it down with a lot of effort, but I can't really enjoy it and I'm lying on the couch all day while distraction is actually good, but I can't bring myself to go outside.

    Small bites help!
For me, Brinta pap in the morning helped... I had a good foundation in the morning!
