Hi ladies, do you think it's bad to still have 1 or 2 cups of coffee a day? Who else does that?

I've pretty much cut out coffee completely, but I was more of a social drinker than a real coffee addict

If I do drink coffee again, it's max 1 or 2 cups per week.
You read everywhere that 1 or 2 cups a day are harmless, but all that caffeine still doesn't seem healthy to me.

My sister kept drinking coffee during her pregnancies. Both kids are healthy but were quite small. 40 weeks, 49 cm and 2kg 500. I don't know if that was due to the coffee, something else, or if my sister just isn't built to have big babies.

Maybe you could drink decaf just to be safe?

    Love!

You're allowed to drink 3 cups of coffee per day when you're pregnant. Each cup contains about 100mg of caffeine. So 300mg per day is considered safe, I think.
I usually drink around one and a half cups a day to keep it safe.

That's right, as Eva says. Professional advice everywhere says that 3 cups is really no harm for the baby, anything more does bring a slight risk, so I just stick to that.. then there's nothing wrong..

Look it up, you can really keep drinking your coffee!!

During my pregnancies, I really had to gag at the smell of coffee, so that was quickly sorted. I think you're allowed to drink 1 or 2 cups a day, though. If you can manage to skip it, I'd do that and go for other drinks like herbal tea instead.

I used to drink so much coffee too! But since I've been pregnant, coffee has just been a no-go... So that's one less thing to worry about! I haven't had coffee since I got pregnant.

I drink 3 cups of coffee a day.
When I was pregnant with my daughter, I think I drank more (it’s been so long ago and I don’t remember if it was even allowed back then).
Doesn’t mean it’s good, but she was a bundle of joy.

I try to stick to it fairly well, but sometimes I have an extra cup too.

    Hi Katie,
I don’t think it’s bad to drink coffee as long as you don’t overdo it. I wouldn’t drink more than 3 cups a day.

Before my pregnancy, I drank about 2 or 3 cups a day, but since I got pregnant, I’ve completely lost the desire for it, so I just don’t drink coffee anymore.
I heard that there are several pregnant women who feel the same way, weird right.

I drank coffee before I was pregnant with my first. Those first few days were really a coffee party!
When I found out I was pregnant, I eventually switched to decaf coffee. When my daughter was delivered at 32 weeks because her heart rate kept dropping, she was given pure caffeine for a few days to keep her heart rate stable. So now, pregnant with my second, I just drink coffee like usual—4 or 5 cups a day—and I really don’t think that does any harm. But if you don’t like the taste of coffee, I’d just skip it. Tea also contains caffeine; no one ever talks about that. I think it’s exactly the same.
    Greetings,
    Claudia
