Bloeding

Two years ago I had issues with a protruding cervical mucosa, which caused me to bleed quickly during intercourse and between my periods. Now, on Sept 29, I saw a faint line on my pregnancy test. The next day I took a more sensitive test, and it was positive. On Saturday, Oct 1, I had to do a big poop and then I had a lot of bleeding, but it only lasted 10 minutes and then stopped. So I assumed it was a burst blood vessel in my cervix. On Monday, Oct 3, I bled again during intercourse. On Tuesday I went to the GP and was sent straight to the gynecologist. The ultrasound showed a thickened uterine wall and a small cavity of about 1 cm. I had blood drawn and need to have another blood test next week to check if hCG is rising properly. She gave me a 50% chance of being pregnant. Today, Oct 5, I took the test again—the one I took first that was so unclear—and it was mega positive. If I had miscarried on Saturday, wouldn't my hCG have stopped rising that much, right? I really feel like it's still going well and the bleeding is coming from my cervix... Anyone have experience with this?

My first day of my last period was August 23rd. I have quite irregular cycles, so maybe I ovulated later than expected, which would explain why the ultrasound only showed a gestational sac? I’ve read that more people see this at 5 weeks.

Lola, that sounds nerve-wracking. A positive test followed by heavy bleeding is definitely a sign not to wait and see. Call your GP or midwife for personalized advice. They can assess whether immediate action is needed. Stay strong.
