I'm going crazy!

Hi everyone.
I'm driving myself crazy.
Last Monday I had blood drawn and on Tuesday I got the results. And I was pregnant. We were overjoyed.
But on Wednesday I started having brown discharge and immediately thought, oh no, something's not right. I called to book an appointment for the first ultrasound and mentioned the brown discharge, and they told me it wasn't a big deal. So I felt a bit reassured. Unfortunately, on Friday morning I had very dark red bleeding. I called my GP and was able to come in right away for a blood test. They said I'd have the results that evening. With a worried heart, I called for the results and, unfortunately, my pregnancy hormone had dropped from 50 to 32. So the doctor said a miscarriage was coming. We were devastated. I also started losing bright red blood the next day. But not a lot. Less than my normal period, and I didn't have any cramps. And it's been like this until today. Today I also took a pregnancy test, just to see if the line had become lighter. But quite the opposite. It has never been this clear. Now I'm driving myself crazy with the thought that maybe it was a twin pregnancy and one baby has died? Because twins run in the family. But on the other hand, I also think the hormone shouldn't drop like that? Has anyone experienced something like this here? Or does anyone have advice?

Your story sounds so familiar to me. I went through something similar a few months ago (except for the bleeding). My hCG levels suddenly started rising again, and we ended up on a whole rollercoaster ride without a happy ending.. I hope things work out better for you.

Getting another blood test now is the best thing you can do.

    Hi Mabke,

First of all, my heart goes out to you

I also had a miscarriage on 20-08-2016 and tested positive until last Saturday. It was only last Monday that it started to get a bit lighter, and in the weeks before, it was even more positive than my first test when I was just pregnant!

It came out in parts, and last week they had to remove the last piece of the gestational sac because my body wasn't doing it on its own and I was bleeding heavily every other day. So unfortunately, it could be true that you're not having a lot of bleeding right now.

But here's another story: my sister-in-law was expecting twins (which she didn't know at the time). She also had a lot of bleeding one night, and one of them had a miscarriage, but the other is now a healthy 9-year-old daughter.

Have it checked by your gynecologist, sweetheart.
