Hi,

I found out a week ago that I’m pregnant... Of our first baby! So right now I’m 4 weeks along. Getting pregnant went pretty smoothly for us (8 months) since I also have a slow thyroid.
Of course I’m very happy now, but it’s just abnormal how nervous/anxious I’ve been the last week. I’m really going crazy with myself!
I wake up at night from overthinking, and at every little stomach ache I get, I immediately panic that something is wrong. I do have quite some stomach pain, mostly a kind of burning sensation in the lower abdomen. I also have some back pain. I haven’t been nauseous so far, but then I think: That’s a bad sign! Grrr, I wish I could just switch that off. And every time I go to the toilet I check my toilet paper extra carefully, because yes, there might be a little spot of blood on it...

The day before yesterday (when I was 4 weeks and 2 days along) I had my first blood test done. My HCG value was 328. So now I have even more to overthink: Is this not too low?
Next week I have to do another blood test. But pff, time goes so slowly! I really want some confirmation from somewhere: it’s okay, it will be okay. Even though I know my pregnancy is still very early and so many things can go wrong...

Oh well, why am I posting this on this forum? I just want to share it with people who are in the same boat... If someone can reassure me, or if someone can relate to my story... Please let me know!

    Hi Trienie,

I totally understand you! I was really unsure during the first 3 months too. I had a miscarriage before this one. Every time I thought, "It's going to be okay now?" and the symptoms would come and go – sometimes nauseous, then suddenly fine for a day. I'm now almost 29 weeks pregnant with a little princess. The best thing is to try not to think about it and see everything positively! Even though that's hard. Worrying doesn't help. Just enjoy being pregnant now. Can't you get an early ultrasound done? At 6/7 weeks?

Everything will be fine and good luck!!

    Hey Sammy,

Thanks for your kind words. It really does me good.

And congratulations on your pregnancy! 29 weeks already! Time is flying by... Soon you'll be able to proudly show off your little princess, lovely!

I have an appointment with the gynecologist on September 9th, so in 2 weeks. That feels like such a long time! But I also know that there probably won't be much to see yet... But hopefully, I'll get good news then. It would already put me at ease.

    Love,
    Trienie

If you're worried, you can always call them, and they can just do an ultrasound!
