Sharp pains in the lower abdomen

Hi everyone,

I'm almost 5.5 weeks pregnant and last night I got quite severe pain on the right side of my lower abdomen.
I had to pee and felt this pain; I initially thought maybe I'd held my urine for too long, but after going to the toilet it didn't ease up.
The pain was sharp/stabbing, my belly felt tense, and I couldn't walk upright properly because of the pain. After about half an hour, using a hot water bottle, the pain subsided. I didn't have any bleeding or anything like that. Haven't had any symptoms today. Has anyone experienced similar symptoms? I'm really worried it might be an ectopic pregnancy since one-sided abdominal pain is also a symptom of that; I'll call my GP tomorrow!
