First ultrasound, no heartbeat yet.

Hi!

I had my first ultrasound today. I thought I was already 7 weeks and 4 days along, but it turned out I'm only 6 weeks and 3 days. Unfortunately, no heartbeat was visible. Very disappointing. I have to go back next Wednesday. The gynecologist said there definitely should be a heartbeat by then, otherwise it won't be good news..

It's going to be a scary, waiting week

Is it normal that no heartbeat could be heard yet? What do you think?

    Sending you lots of strength while you wait. I went through the same thing last year. Unfortunately, I knew right away that something wasn’t right because I was sure when my ovulation had been. But it does happen more often that women are pregnant for longer or shorter than they thought. I hope to see a very beautiful flickering heart on Wednesday.

    I have no experience with not seeing a heartbeat, but not being able to hear it is quite normal, I think. The little heart starts beating around 5 weeks, right? What did the doctor say herself? Couldn't she reassure you? Wishing you lots of success and strength while you wait.

    I got some good news this morning. The heartbeat is there!!! So relieved after a week of anxious waiting.

    I'm now 7 weeks and 2 days pregnant. Hopefully everything goes well. My next appointment with the gynecologist is on August 1st, and then I'll be exactly 12 weeks.

    Exciting!
