3rd trimester
Introduction to the 2nd baby

Hi everyone,
I was wondering what your experience is with inducing labor for a second baby. With my first, I was induced at 38+1 with a balloon catheter. The balloon was placed Sunday morning around 9:30 AM, and I gave birth Monday evening around 6:30 PM.
Now, I have to come in on Tuesday evening for a check-up with the OB-GYN to see if I have enough dilation. If I do, they’ll break my waters on Wednesday morning. If I have less than 3cm of dilation, I’ll get a balloon and have to stay overnight.
Today, I already had a softened cervix and 1cm dilation. I’ve had hard contractions and painful cramps for a week now. Tomorrow, I’ll be exactly 38 weeks pregnant.
How was your experience with a second induction? Did it go faster than the first?
