Hi ladies,

I'm 5 weeks pregnant now, but I'm experiencing mild menstrual cramps and light red bleeding.
Is this familiar to you all? I find it scary and am worried about a possible miscarriage.

I'd love to read your experiences!

    Hey hey mom2be,

I think I'm about 5 weeks pregnant too, and I haven't had this. Have you taken a pregnancy test yet?
It could also be implantation bleeding, and you really don't need to worry about that!

    Greetings

    Hi Mommy017,

Yes, I took a test last week. I'm now 5 weeks pregnant.
I called the midwife and she said it could indeed be implantation bleeding and that the cramps might be because the uterus is growing.

I just had to go to the toilet again, and it's already much less. I'm hoping for the best!

Still, I'm curious to hear stories from other women about this topic!

Implantation bleeding is often not red but brown blood. It can mean all sorts of things... Hope everything is okay.

    I hope so too, really.
I find it all quite exciting and scary. Especially because this is my first pregnancy and I have no idea how and what will change in my body. It's nice that you can find support on such a forum.

Still, I'd like to hear more about this topic. Are there any women who have or have had this?

I had it too. Also red and also around six weeks in my previous pregnancy. It was implantation bleeding and everything was fine. I was allowed to go for an ultrasound because I was really panicked. If you're really feeling unwell, maybe you can ask for it? Toi toi! X

I unfortunately have had less positive experiences with bleeding... In my first pregnancy, I didn't even have cramps, but I did have sharp pains in my groin and was so incredibly tired that I had to lie down. But as you can see, there are many different stories, and fortunately, many that end well too! If you're really worried, you can ask for an ultrasound at six weeks to see if they can at least spot something to reassure you.

    Hope it's nothing serious!

    Hi

I'm now 21 weeks pregnant. In the beginning, around 7 weeks, I had regular bleeding and painful cramps. I was convinced twice that I was miscarrying. (I have a history of 3 miscarriages)

With my previous pregnancy, I also had regular bleeding in the first 12 weeks that turned into old blood. That pregnancy went well too. She's now a little one of 15 months.

Don't give up, girl, it can go either way.

Thanks for your replies. I'll take a look at it for now. The bleeding isn't too much and luckily I don't have any cramps anymore. If it's still like this next week, I'll ask if I can have an ultrasound. Hope everything is okay.

    Hi ladies,

Unfortunately, I'm experiencing very heavy bleeding (more than a normal period) with some clots and tissue. I have an ultrasound on Wednesday just to be sure, but I'm pretty sure I already know what it is. I already feel empty. It's a tough experience. I hope the bleeding doesn't last too long.

Hey mom2be, that's really tough to hear. I saw your post and wanted to let you know that I'm now 2 days overdue and also experiencing some bleeding, just when wiping. Wishing you lots of strength for Wednesday. I hope you'll let me know how it went. Love

    Hi Mimie30,

Thank you. I feel really down. I keep hoping that something will be visible on Wednesday, but of course I’m mainly bracing myself for bad news.

That’s really unfortunate, but your pregnancy test was positive, right? It could still be implantation bleeding on your end since it’s still very early. That shouldn’t cause any harm. I hope for the best for you.

And yes, I’ll let you know how it went.

    Hey mom2be,

That's really tough that you had to go through that.. I had a miscarriage last year too, I was pregnant with twins and at 8 weeks I got sharp pains in my belly. I could get an ultrasound right away and was told that the heartbeats had stopped.

I think you can also go to the midwife earlier.. I really appreciated being able to go right away.

I really hope for you that you don't go through the same thing as I did, I wouldn't wish that on anyone. I'll root for you, hope that you'll see a beautiful baby on the ultrasound and a beating heart!

If you want to talk about it, you can always send me a message xxxx

    Hey Mommy017

    Thanks for your sweet message.
I couldn't come sooner because the person doing the ultrasounds was on vacation and only starts again tomorrow, and is now completely booked up.

I secretly hope so badly that everything is still okay, but I also have to stay realistic. The bleeding is luckily much less now.

I'll let you know how it turned out.

Unfortunately, I had a miscarriage. I had already suspected it.
Sad, but it will be okay. Next time will be better!
    This is not the end.

Thank you for your kind messages. I wish you all a wonderful pregnancy!
