Hi mommy017, thanks for your replies. It's nice that you see it the same way—I think that's exactly right. When you talk about it, you realize that what you might have thought isn't really that good. Hihi, yesterday and today we also did it. And today I took a rest; I lay still for almost 2 hours yesterday and today, hihi.

Yes, we're also hoping for a quick positive test! (:

I have to wait 2 weeks before I can test. Which tests are a bit reliable? Love,
  2. Mommy017 #22

    Hi hi mom,

I always do a cheap test first and then just to be sure, one from Coolblue or call the GP.
The ones from Action are 2 for €1.50.. I then buy 2 packs hahaha and test for a few days in a row! Make sure to do it in the morning then, that's when your urine is most concentrated!

Exciting right those 2 weeks now, hahaha you can't wait to know for sure that it worked.. Now eat healthy and stuff and relax nicely

    Greetings

Hey! Yes, definitely! I know those from Action too, hehe—they're really cheap! I can't wait either; those two weeks will definitely feel long. I'm already trying to eat as healthily as possible and taking Davitamon for pregnancy or trying to conceive.

So, relax and enjoy! I really hope this month is the one! We've definitely made the most of it and done everything we could. Now it's just a matter of waiting! But I don't know if you have this feeling too—I've already got a very strong feeling in my belly? But the sensation is quite low. Not sure if it's related, but we'll just wait and see! So exciting. I hope I get some symptoms soon; that way, you usually know a bit more.

    Love,

It's exciting, you know... but symptoms don't always mean anything. When you really, really want something, you start looking for those "ailments" yourself!

We took over 3 years... and every month I felt symptoms and thought, maybe this month it'll happen? But no, then I got my period and it was a disappointment every time. I was also very focused on getting pregnant, and at one point I stopped because it broke me every time. Now I'm almost 9 weeks pregnant, and honestly, I didn't feel any "symptoms" at all. I had no issues anywhere. That's why I think sometimes it happens when you least expect it—you get pregnant. You can't exactly plan a pregnancy; having kids is a gift.

And Davitamon, but then the complete Mama version—I'm taking this here:
    Multivitamins with minerals
    Folic acid
    Vitamin D
I can take it throughout the entire pregnancy, and then you don't need extra folic acid.
  5. Mama van #25

Oops, hit Enter too fast... I mean, you can take Davitamon Complete throughout your entire pregnancy, but you could also just take folic acid and do that until week 11...
    Davitamon is like an extra
With folic acid in it.. So you don't have to take double.. and a healthy lifestyle is always good of course, but that unfortunately doesn't say anything about how long it takes to get pregnant...
    It's just pure luck.

There are plenty of people who live very healthily and don't get a baby.. and people who really mess up their lives get pregnant so easily.
I've always found that unfair, but unfortunately that's just how it is...

    Hey mama!

I always wake up so early, hehe, but I was really happy to see your message! It makes me feel good to recognize so much of what you're saying and typing.

You're right, I knew what Davitamon was for, and it's really nice to use. Otherwise, I'm just being myself, only paying a little extra attention to what I eat, with some nice treats mixed in.

I'm not really focusing too much on it either, since my boyfriend said he doesn't want to talk about babies all the time, hehe.

I also let things come to me as they will. I've had times when I thought I was pregnant, but it turned out not to be the case afterward, despite all the symptoms.

Now I'm indeed trying not to focus too much on it, since that hasn't brought me much good in the past. But it's nice for me to find recognition among other moms!

    Love,

It'll be fine, you're still young Are you living together already or still at home? I couldn't find that anywhere.
  8. Mama van #28

Mommy017, are you pregnant? That's lovely. Congratulations xx

Hey mom of no, we still live at home but plan to look for our own place within a year after the little one is born! Cozy for our little trio hihihi
So we'll only be staying in my parents' house for a short while, which won't be a problem at all though

    Love
  10. Mama van #30

Maybe you should start looking for your own little house now.
These days, you don't just stumble upon a cheap house easily.
Are you already registered with the housing association?
  11. Ment to be a mom started this #31

Hey! Yes, we're already registered together. Hi! We've already done that, and we're actively looking, but it does cost quite a bit of money. But we are definitely looking; we'll probably go for a house purchase.
  12. Mama van #32

I think for a house purchase you both need to have a permanent contract, and at 19 and 21 the mortgage probably won't be very high, I guess...
Of course, the best would be to have a house first and then a baby.
I was a very young mother of twins myself, and it's really nice to have your own space where you can turn to yourself...
  13. Ment to be a mom started this #33

yes, that's what we think too, but well, we'd really like to have a baby of our own. otherwise we'd just rent a house, which is quite expensive, but we're working towards our future, that's for sure. one question though: I've had a sour, bloated stomach all day, lots of white, mucus-like discharge, and my acidity is really high. any idea if this is normal?

because I can't find anything on Google, everyone says something different. I won't hang myself on all these symptoms, but I was just wondering if you recognize this?

    love,

Judging by your posts, are you still in school?
And what does your boyfriend do? Does he work 5 days a week?
Or is he still in school too?
  15. Ment to be a mom started this #35

No, my boyfriend works 5 days a week and hopes to get a higher position at work. He's a sales assistant, and I'm still in school.

I'm just a bit confused for a moment. I didn't keep track of my last periods very well, and I'm now realizing that I got my period on March 31st, which was quite a while ago. Then I got it again on April 16th, but what I'm realizing now is that this really can't be right because there's exactly 2 weeks between March 31st and April 16th on my calendar. According to that calculation, I should already be overdue since my period should have been on April 28th? So I'm not sure what to think. Maybe you have an idea?

Sorry, meant to be a mom. I’m coming back to my earlier post: O; age doesn’t say anything about becoming a mom, but personally I think you should be 'ready' for it in every way. A house, enough income, and a stable relationship.
So I’d say you should first make sure you’re living together before you start having kids.
The relationship and the desire might be there, but that’s not the only thing.
And of course, someone who gets pregnant (whether intentionally or not) while still living at home will manage, but do you really want to choose that consciously?

I’m not judging anyone, of course. Everyone does it their own way, but don’t underestimate it.
  17. Mama van #37

That's what I mean, little one..

Having your own place is the foundation for a baby.

And nowadays, it's not easy to find an affordable rental, and for buying a house you both need a permanent job contract. With just one income from a 21-year-old, you can't afford to live on your own..

Of course, you can really, really want a baby and it might be your biggest dream, but it's also nice to be financially stable for baby food, diapers, wipes, creams, soaps, clothes, furniture.. there's so much involved.

I'm not saying this to tease you, but because I was a young mom myself, just 20 years old, with 2 newborn babies.
  18. Mama van #38

I'm not sending this to tease you. I was a young mom myself, just 20 years old, with 2 babies (twins). I was completely alone from the moment they were born!

I know exactly what you're going through. You obviously want a baby, but it's better to have a solid foundation first—a place of your own. A baby really costs a lot of money...

You're still young. I'd first focus on finding your own little home, then save up so you can enjoy shopping later on. xx

    Hey mom,

I totally get where you're coming from. You want to know where we stand, and I understand that. You hear a lot of stories about teenage moms, and I know those too. But my partner and I have really thought this through, and no matter how crazy it might sound, I'm sure we'll make it work. I have a lot of experience with kids, patience, and love, and I'm fully aware of the costs that come every month and week. But costs shouldn't be a problem if we don't have the money, we wouldn't even start. I know what I can offer this child: a loving father, mother, and family from both sides, and a good start in life. I wouldn't have made this decision if I didn't have what I have now. I understand your response, but it's not like that for us, and we're really ready for it. We're also saving up for when the baby comes, and having a baby doesn't always have to be expensive if you spend wisely.

    Love,
  20. Mama van #40

Ehm, so you live at home with your parents and your partner lives at home too?
And you're together every day, what do your parents and in-laws think about it? That they're going to be grandparents?
