Dear expectant mothers,

Last Tuesday I had a NIPT test done. It's a blood test to check if everything is genetically okay with the baby. Since I'm almost 43, we wanted some certainty. It's been 6 days now, and I've read online that I can expect the results between today and Friday. I'm checking my email every 5 minutes and I'm really nervous. Does anyone have experience with the NIPT at Gendia in Antwerp?

Best wishes, Sylvia

    Hi Sylvia,

According to the NIPT test website, it takes about 2 weeks in the Netherlands for the NIPT test results to come back. For Gendia, it depends on where the test was done; the results can take anywhere from 6 days to a week and a half. Hope this helps!

Thank you! Yes, I’ve searched through all the forums and came across the 6 to 11 days range. It’s day 7 now, so it’s super exciting. I’m looking forward to hearing the experiences of other expectant mothers!

On 16-2, the midwife called to tell me that the NIPT test showed I was pregnant with a baby who had a chromosomal abnormality. Our world fell apart. Two weeks ago tomorrow, I gave birth to my son. No longer pregnant. Very sad.
