Light bleeding at 21 weeks

I've now had light bleeding for the second time, a week and a day apart (2 times 2 streaks of red blood).
Now I have to go to the gynecologist for an interim check-up this afternoon, even though I have my due date ultrasound on Thursday. She prefers to play it safe, but she said there's no reason to panic.
I'll be glad when I've got the check-up behind me this afternoon.
Is there anyone else who has experienced this or something similar?

Your cervix is very engorged with blood right now, and sometimes a small blood vessel can burst, which can cause a little bleeding. But yeah, it's definitely wise to get an extra check-up so you're sure everything is okay with your baby. I also had some bleeding every time from 25 weeks onwards, but it turned out to be because my skin was very dry and a spot kept tearing, and it bled like crazy. -

Just got back from the extra check-up, my cervix was checked and little girl too, etc., but everything is perfectly fine!! Nothing to be found anywhere, so they don't even know where it's coming from... What a relief
