white flakes on the face

Hi everyone,
I'm now 13 weeks and 2 days pregnant.

I've noticed it before, but it's becoming more and more noticeable.
I have white flakes all over my face, and I find it really annoying because everyone can see it.

I never wear foundation or that kind of makeup, only eyeliner and mascara when I go to work.

You might think it's due to dry skin, but that's not the case.

Does anyone else have this too? If so, what do you do about it?

Thanks in advance,

Kind regards, Rowanda

    Hi Rowiiie,

That sounds like a rash. It also happens in adults when your immunity is lower, so when you're pregnant. Just go to the GP for some cream.

It could also be a different fungus or bacteria, or just something due to your hormones. It's not serious, I think.

    Hi Sylvia,

    thanks for your reply.
I just took some photos to give a clearer picture,
I'll definitely drop by the GP here next week.

The problem is that the doctor won't be back until Tuesday, which makes it tricky since I live in Hungary.

It doesn't hurt or burn, I just think it looks really unpleasant.

Thanks for your tip, I hope I'll have more news on Tuesday.

Hi Rowie, I'm 18 weeks pregnant now and have exactly the same thing... don't know what I can do about it either. I do apply day cream, but later in the day it's back again. I'm curious what you did to get rid of it and what it is?? I'd love to hear from you.

Good chance indeed that it's a yeast infection, that's a mild fungal infection. The doctor can prescribe a cream (e.g., ketoconazole), and it'll be gone in no time.
