pregnancy lasts so long

Hi there,

I'm now 18+3 weeks pregnant and it's really weighing on me.
By the ninth week, I was already hooked up to an IV drip in the hospital, and unfortunately, the nausea hasn't gone away yet.
So, actually enjoying the pregnancy isn't really happening.
It feels more like every day is a battle just to get through it.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to not just sit around waiting for the time to pass and actually enjoy the pregnancy more?

It's annoying that you can't enjoy it. Eating small bites throughout the day helps with the nausea. You could also get Emeset from your GP for the nausea.

It feels heavy now, but at the end, you'll see it was all worth it.

Try to find distraction in something you enjoy...

I'm now pregnant with my second. With the first, I had a lot of heartburn, so bad that I almost had to sleep upright, and shortness of breath.

Maybe you'll enjoy it more once you can feel your baby properly.

Try to enjoy it; it's a beautiful time too.

Well girl, it can still get pretty tough......

I can tell you that I felt the worst between 8 and 18 weeks, after that it got better. So the standard "after 12 weeks/first trimester you'll feel better" bullshit doesn't apply to everyone.
Hopefully the 'symptoms' will pass quickly.

Try to bring as much routine into your day as possible and figure out for yourself what works best and what actually has the opposite effect.
(Eating when you get up, sleeping on your right side, taking a nap during the day, ...)

    You've got this!

Hi, I felt the same way at first, but after a while you realize how beautiful it is. You get attached to the baby, and then it all seems to work out fine.

    ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

I didn't enjoy the pregnancy much either... For various reasons. Now I do feel a bit regretful. When you see how a baby swallows you whole (in a positive way too). I'd say: realize now that you still have plenty of time for yourself and that you can still do things that won't be possible in a few months, like watching series/movies at your leisure, reading books, hobbies (making jewelry, crocheting, knitting,...), just lying or sitting in bed without having to do anything,...
When people told me: "enjoy it," I thought "yeah, easy to say with all these complaints, extreme fatigue, ..." But now I know that's a good point! ??
