Congratulations on your pregnancy

If the heartbeat has stopped and you haven't had bleeding or a miscarriage yet, you'll eventually get one. Your body will then expel the embryo.

Uncertainty is hard, I know that, especially during the first 12 weeks. But try to focus on the nice things—you saw the heartbeat last time, trust the little miracle in your belly Enjoy your ultrasound next week

Hi Marijke, I never really had those kinds of worries myself. I never used to wonder if everything was okay or not.
I hear more and more women talking about it these days, being nervous about whether everything is alright or not.
But I never worried about that, neither during my first pregnancy nor my second.
And not with the third one either.
But I can imagine it’s really tough if you do have those worries.
Unfortunately, I don’t have any tips.
But try to trust in nature and believe that everything will be fine.
    Greetings, Madelene

Oh sorry, I read over it too quickly.
About the abortion you went through.
That's really heavy to go through something like that.
I would probably see things differently then.
I think I'd worry about whether I could still have children.
And then I'd better understand your fear and uncertainty too.

I would have made a different choice if I had been too young for pregnancy. I would have given my baby up for adoption. But well, I’m not you and I don’t judge. I just wanted to get it off my chest, but that’s not what your question was about. Good luck with your ultrasound, and I hope you’ll feel reassured afterwards.

Hey Madelene, thanks for your message I'm now in my 14th week and as far as things go, everything still seems fine. The worries have decreased. I'm also sure I'm past the 12-week mark, luckily, and haven't had any bleeding yet, and the ultrasounds were also super good... About the abortion, well... it was very difficult at that time, and I obviously also thought about giving up the baby, but my parents disapproved of that... they would say something like... then we might as well raise it ourselves... But I chose abortion because I was young, had no job, no money, no place to live, the father left me and the child, literally ended things with me and was gone... It was better for me at that time, honestly... Now, before we decided to take the baby and I happened to turn 30, I could do the cervical cancer test and directly asked the doctor if my cervix looked okay, and it was, so I could start trying, and that worked out yay.

Thanks anyway for the response ????

Just remove the question marks, okay? I can't edit my post in any way. Thanks anyway, hihi.

I completely understand you. Doubts. I lie awake worrying about it. I just can't put it aside. I'm six weeks pregnant now. Last Thursday, I saw a beautiful, beating heart. But that scare... I have to go for check-ups every week. Every week an ultrasound. I've had six miscarriages in a row. And for me, it's impossible to enjoy every moment. I'm happy for you that you've passed the critical period. I wish you a carefree pregnancy. What I wish for everyone.

    Hi Hope,

First of all, congratulations on your pregnancy...

It's indeed a rotten feeling with all that uncertainty, especially after everything you've been through in the past. With 6 miscarriages, it's pretty intense, and I can really empathize with how unsure you must feel...

For me, it was also very difficult, but the only thing you can do is take your folic acid every day and avoid eating anything raw that you're not supposed to. The first 12 weeks aren't fun, and I know you'll find yourself thinking about everything unconsciously. At night, after going to the bathroom, I'd lie awake for over an hour, terrified that it might go wrong again. You want things to go well and try to prevent what you unfortunately can't—just hoping the baby stays put... and hoping you don't get any bleeding. As long as there's no bleeding, you're good. Stay positive; if needed, buy something for the baby to distract yourself from the fear that something might go wrong...

Even though I literally didn't dare to buy anything until those 12 weeks were over... because, well, you never know. Just keep hoping, Hope, that things will work out

So, no bleeding means you're good at least that's how I think about it.

Enjoy this pregnancy—it's really going to go well.

    Hi Marijke,
I had light bleeding. Luckily, it was implantation. I need to insert vaginal pills. Take Asaflow. A kind of blood thinner. And half a pill with cortisone to prevent rejection. My folic acid and vitamins. Weekly check-ups. It's absolutely not fun. Try not to stress too much. Easy to say, though. Every trip to the toilet is with a worried heart. For now, everything is okay, so keep believing in it.
