Premature birth with the second child?

My friend delivered with her previous pregnancy at 27 weeks. She's now 9 weeks pregnant with the second one, and the midwife mentioned a shot she could take every week, but it's only been on the market for 1.5 years and there's nothing to find online. She still needs to see the OB-GYN soon, but I was wondering if anyone knows about this or has experience with it.

    So the injections are supposed to help prevent any early births.
