weak cervix

On July 14, 2014, at 6:09 AM, my little daughter Lia was born peacefully after 18 weeks of pregnancy. Also on December 27, 2012, at 11:23 PM, my little boy Neil was born peacefully after 23 weeks of pregnancy. When my son was born, I also had an infection, so the gynecologist couldn't say for sure what had caused the preterm birth. Now, with my daughter, they saw that my cervix was weakened, which must have been the cause of the two preterm births. This doesn't change the fact that I've lost my two children, so I have to say goodbye to this website again...

That's so terribly sad. So much sorrow and it's happened twice. Sending you lots of strength with this enormous loss. I hope you'll eventually find a place for it in your heart.

    Love, Chantal

Lots of strength. My son was born at 33 weeks; I had to lie flat for 8 weeks because I also have a weak cervix! (Short cervix and it shortens very quickly!) My uterus is also heart-shaped, so the baby doesn't have much space! My gynecologist is sure that I will deliver too early again in the next pregnancy due to my cervix, but I won't have to lie flat for so long because they will place a ring around my cervix so it can't weaken or shorten! Strange that your gynecologist didn't do this for you in your 2nd pregnancy? Maybe ask about it during the next pregnancy! Don't lose heart, girl!! Stay strong!! Lots of courage!!

    Hi, lots of strength, sis.
My son was also born at 33 weeks. He spent 3 weeks in the hospital for lung maturation and to stop contractions. I had a tear in my membranes and an infection. After a month in the incubator, we started to enjoy life again. Now he’s just turned 5, a very strong boy we can be really proud of. Lots of success, okay? x
