11 weeks pregnant and low blood pressure

Hi everyone, I wanted to ask something. I'm 11 weeks pregnant and I know I have low blood pressure because I had it before pregnancy too, but now I constantly feel like I'm going to faint and I'm very weak all over. When I stand or walk, my legs almost give out, so I'm constantly lying down.

Blood tests for anemia were negative, so that's not it.

Now I wanted to ask if anyone has experience with this and knows what to do, because honestly, I'm getting exhausted from it and lying down all the time isn't good either...

Thanks in advance.

Doesn't black licorice help with low blood pressure?

    Hey Tamara,

My experience is that I just suddenly fainted during both pregnancies.
Unfortunately, salty liquorice didn't help me at all.
My iron levels were way too low, so I took iron supplements. There's not much more you can do.
Do you also have low blood pressure outside of pregnancy? Mine is always around 107/68.
During pregnancy it gets even lower... it's just in my blood. My 13-year-old daughter has been struggling with it a lot since her menstrual cycle started. She ALWAYS sees stars when standing up from bed/sofa/chair... if she stands up as slowly as a snail.
For some, it's just part of it.

Be careful, you know you might faint... and lying down isn't the solution, this isn't healthy for your baby's development.

My iron levels are also good, which is why. And no, licorice doesn't help, nor does a lump of sugar... I do as little as possible, but the only thing I can do is lie down and sometimes sit... And yes, Ezzie, I also have low blood pressure outside of my pregnancy. It was okay once during my pregnancy and then crashed again. I don't know what it was like before I was pregnant, but I do know it was 90/60 now.
I also eat less and stuff like that because, well, I can't do much...
Tomorrow I'll go to the GP again and next week to the gynecologist, and hopefully everything is okay with the little one.

I had really low blood pressure throughout the entire pregnancy.
I even fainted and was close to it very often.
My gynecologist said there was nothing to be done except adding a bit extra salt to my food.
Otherwise, keep calm and be careful not to (faint) and fall.
I couldn't work the whole pregnancy, being a mail carrier and that was really irresponsible. I was already dizzy when I stood up from the couch!

Yeah, I just feel like my body is in a flu phase right now. Had to get blood drawn again for liver and thyroid, but it'll probably come up nothing again...
I have to walk around with newspapers every afternoon, and the rest of the day I don't have anything else to do, so that helps... I've been home for 3 days and now I'm back at it full-time...

Yeah, I hope it gets better once I pass the 12th or 13th week... I'm going crazy over this, and on top of that, I'm also having stomach issues (which I already had before I got pregnant), and that's also holding me back. I'm trying to push through, but it's really hard.

Continuing doesn't seem like the best idea if it's not really working out, but that's your own decision.
And don't expect too much that it'll get better after about twelve weeks. My blood pressure was low throughout the entire pregnancy, and it was the same for two of my friends.

Low blood pressure, I can live with that, and I'm going through with it because it's not good for the little one if I just lie around...
But I'm also contracting from the stomach pain, and that irritates me immensely...

I can do whatever I want, but it doesn't help. My gynecologist even said that even if you ate a whole bag of salty licorice, I don't think it would help. So I'll just have to wait out the pregnancy with it. Of course, I'm enjoying everything I hear, see, and feel from the little one...

    Thank you all anyway.

    Hi,

I'm 10 weeks pregnant now. My blood pressure was 110/60. The midwife said it's fine, but still advised me to take extra salt and some tablets. I'm having blood drawn tomorrow. I'm curious to see how my iron levels are. We'll make sure I get extra salt and tablets so I feel less tired and dizzy.

They told me on Monday that my blood pressure is high too, but that I should just take it easy... salt doesn't help, so I'm not bothering with that anymore. I'm now 16 weeks pregnant, have been very sick, and my body still feels it really hard. It's going to be a tough pregnancy for me for the next 23 and a half weeks...
