At the first ultrasound, smaller than expected

Hi!

Personally, I think the 'first day of the last period' method really makes sense, because it usually assumes a normal 28-day cycle. If you have a longer cycle, your ovulation – and therefore implantation – happens later, which means the pregnancy is shorter.

If everything looked good and the heartbeat was strong, I wouldn't worry too much.

Enjoy it and congratulations!

With me it was the other way around: I turned out to be further along in my pregnancy than I thought and what the internet calculator indicated.
So I think I ovulated a bit earlier.

I wouldn't worry or stress about it at all. The important thing is that everything is okay with the baby. As Kruimel already pointed out. Enjoy this special time

They put me back by 2 weeks after the due date scan too, and my due date changed from July 17 to July 3. And I really gave birth on July 3! So don't stress too much. As long as everything looks good.

I was 4 weeks pregnant, and they initially thought I was 7 weeks at that point. The only thing I was worried about was whether it was a healthy pregnancy, not a false one, or an ectopic pregnancy. But I have a beautiful little one with a lovely beating heart. It's a bit smaller than it should be, but definitely almost 9 weeks pregnant, so don't worry about anything... You definitely have a beautiful little one in your belly.
