How long will it take?

I have a question. I don't know if anyone actually has an answer to this, but it's worth a try.

I took my last Depo-Provera shot last January. I was supposed to get another one in March, but my boyfriend and I decided not to. From March onwards, I started taking the regular pill; according to my GP, this should help get things going a bit faster.

Now, I've stopped taking the pill since last week. Naturally, I got my withdrawal bleed, which stopped today.

My question is: how long will it take for my fertility to return? I'm wondering if the hormones from the Depo shot are still in my body and if that affects the return of my fertility, ovulation, and period.

I'd love to hear from women who have taken the Depo shot too: how long did it take for you?

Love, Debbie

    Hi Debbie,

After 8 years off the pill, I'm not fertile anymore.
Just read my profile for a bit.

The fact is that you did have some withdrawal bleeding... My body can't even do that anymore.

So I think you should just wait and see.

    Depo is pure crap!!

I didn't even need contraception after that.
Because I'm not fertile without medication.

I had some withdrawal bleeding after stopping the pill. Now, a week later, I'm bleeding again. Is this still withdrawal bleeding or is it my period?

    Hi Debbie...
A week later, I won’t even think about MS in my case...
After all, the uterine lining has to build up first, an egg has to release, and then the hormonal changes lead to a period.

But can you get withdrawal bleeding twice in a row?
I know this isn't a period.. but what it is then.. I have no idea.

Maybe it's related to your withdrawal bleeding; I'd give the HA a call.

I called the doctor this morning, and he says this is definitely not a withdrawal bleed and has nothing to do with that. It's probably a period since the blood is heavy/bright red. He can't say for sure, but since I started the pill right after stopping the injection to get my cycle going faster, it could well be a period. I hope so! I'll wait and see if I get my period next month..

    Dear Ezzie,

I feel really conflicted about sharing this because you're also so focused on having a baby.

But the bleeding wasn't a period. It was withdrawal bleeding. It was implantation bleeding.

In other words, I'm pregnant with my first child. ????

    That's something you've earned, I'm sure
I just find it nice that you took the time to let me know.
    Enjoy it, it's something wonderful!
And when it's my turn, it will definitely happen.
