Thirty-somethings?

Hi ladies,
I see a few threads here about mums-to-be who are 35+, but it all seems a bit full already... So I thought, why not start a new little group!

Are there any ladies who’d enjoy having a chat? I’m 38, have two beautiful girls aged 9 and 5, and am planning to start trying for a third soon!
Would love to chat with (future) mums around my age!

Cheers!

Hi there! I'm 28 but love to chat along.
We've been trying for baby #2 for over a year now.
With our son, it was a success on the third round back in May, and now we're on round 2 here.

See, every pregnancy is different and remains a miracle.

    Hi Irma,
    Nice that you're chatting along!
Yeah, every time it's different... I also had to wait a year for both my girls, which was really tough. It feels like everyone around you suddenly gets pregnant or becomes pregnant. Although they say a year is actually quite normal, it doesn't feel that way at the time.
We'll see how long we have to wait for our third miracle. I hope it's a bit shorter, since I'm already 38, which does play a role...

Everyone starts asking too, which is quite frustrating.
Then we say no, dear, but the grandparents already know.

We've noticed that Cops has it and could start with Clomid, but wants to take it easy for now and let Mother Nature do her thing. The GP also says that where there's one, there will surely be a second.

Oh yes, keep doing the DIY cheerfully, but not with those hits, hehe.

    Yeah, that's really frustrating...
Help me out, what was it again? Did it happen spontaneously with the first one, or did you already have that diagnosis back then?

Yeah haha it's way too hot to do any DIY right now hihi!

Irregular cycle, little to no mucus, and ovulation takes longer, which is why it's so irregular, but I do ovulate.
  6. irma Guest #7

    First spontaneous and soon after

I never actually asked, but can't it be that you keep that for a delivery/pregnancy?

    Hi Dopje,
I'm also 39 and had a spiral removed in January for my fifth baby.
In the meantime, I've had a messy, irregular cycle, so I've decided to go to the gynecologist on Tuesday.
I've already felt my spirits drop a few times, even though we're only on our fourth official round (I got my first period in April after having the spiral removed).
I was told that PCOS is more common in women who are overweight?
I've also gained a few kilos after my last daughter (9 years old), and I hope that the irregular cycle isn't due to that.
Anyway, I hope to know more on Tuesday...
I've been doing ovulation tests since April, but I've only had two periods since then.
    Good luck!
    Love, Brigitte

Hi there! I'm a 36-year-old mom of 3 kids (16, 11, and 3). My pill ran out in February, got my cycle back in April, and now I'm on round 2. Have you made the decision yet?
  10. irma Guest #11

Nope, overweight, yes. A bit bothered by pimples since stopping the pill and hair growth, well, every woman has that, right? What's normal? ?

Hey, it's getting busy and cozy here! :-)
    Welcome ladies!
Okay Irma, that's tricky, but luckily you do have ovulation. I have no idea if you can keep that after giving birth/pregnancy... I hope it hits for you guys quickly!
Brigitte, that's annoying, good that you're going to the gynecologist on Tuesday. Exciting! How old are your 4 kids?
I also have a bit of extra weight here, hope it doesn't have an influence, it was the case with my first pregnancy unfortunately, very irregular and skipped months. After losing a few kilos it got better quickly! With the second I didn't have any trouble, but found out after a small year (when I started using an ovulation test for the first time) that I have a very late ovulation, got pregnant directly that month haha. I hope it doesn't take as long this time. I got divorced a few years ago and now have a new partner, we'd like to have another baby together, hopefully we're blessed with that! The knot is indeed cut here now, moon, Monday I'll call the GP to make an appointment to get my IUD removed and then... Let's go for it! :-)

    @dotje
    Kids are 1
    Almost 20, 18, 16, and 9.
And keep in mind that after the IUD, it takes some time for your cycle to get back on track. Good luck in advance, exciting!

Yes, I'm keeping that in mind, Brigitte. I hope it goes well, but I'm a bit scared. Wishing you lots of success on Tuesday too! X
  14. brigitte #15

    @dopje
    I'll keep you posted.
Because then I'll know if it's still the aftereffects of having the IUD removed.

Phew, we got rid of the IUD! :-) Called the GP this morning and was able to go in this afternoon. Luckily it wasn't a big deal; placing it was painful back then, but this time it wasn't. They did have to search a bit because the strings had gotten hidden haha, but luckily they found them :-).
  16. irma Guest #17

For those who are going for 2 or 3 kids, does it also go faster?? And a second wonder-child is taking its time
  17. irma Guest #18

    Congratulations by the way
  18. dopje11 started this #19

Welcome Melissa! And congratulations! That's so nice!

Irma, I think that's different for everyone... For me, it took about a year for both... Hopefully, the third one will be faster now! :-)
It's still a wait-and-see, but I can imagine it's making you feel a bit discouraged. Hopefully, it'll happen quickly this time!

    Update:
Went to the gyn today, had an ultrasound and nothing wrong to be seen, uterine lining perfect, fallopian tubes good. According to him I shouldn't worry that it would be PCOS. I have no visible evidence of that either, nor PCOS fallopian tubes According to him no reason to panic, because with 4 kids I've really proven I'm fertile and haven't had any problems getting pregnant in the past. He literally said to throw the ovulation tests away and just calmly wait According to him you're too hard on yourself otherwise. Anyway, there MUST be a period following if you've had an ovulation or a positive ovulation test!!! Anyway, blood was drawn (two blue arms because they couldn't find my veins) and he's going to check all the hormones, testosterone, LH, etc... because he thinks I have a disrupted hormonal balance. Thursday I'll know the results. So I'm already partly reassured, you also said that it doesn't come because I have overweight, because in the 20 years I've been coming to him I've always been heavier than average and still got pregnant quickly. As for age, it's just 40% slower than normal. So if it normally takes 5-6 months, it's now 8 months to 1 year. I'm reassured by this and have new courage. I'm also letting the ovulation tests be for what they are these months, and just not thinking about anything and letting things take their course.
Only need to hear Thursday evening what the result is...
    Love
