I recently got assigned a maternity care provider in Blaasveld.
This is my first baby, I'm currently 25 weeks pregnant, and I'm going to check things out tonight.
But what should I pay attention to? I'll definitely drop something on the floor so I can look under the cabinets for dust,
check if there are any pets, etc.
Does anyone have experience with Svenja Vandenborre in Blaasveld?

Greetings!

I read your message here... I think it's totally normal that you want the best spot for your baby... I'm a nanny myself but I'm Flemish. So I don't know the person mentioned above.

I think it's quite rude what you'd do... Dropping something on the floor to look under the cabinet... If I were receiving a new mother here and I noticed she would do this, she'd have to immediately look for another childcare place! As far as I know, nannies do their utmost to keep everything as clean as possible! Having kids in the house isn't always easy, after all. As far as I know, you can also just ask if there are pets present. Because this isn't actually forbidden.

    Kind regards!

I think so too, anonymous. You don't do anything else but your best....

I get what you're saying about the anonymous name, but my niece also went to a nanny, and everything seemed clean there, until she dropped her toy and my brother had to pick it up from under the cabinet, and there was a whole pile of dust.. sorry, but kids crawl on the floor, so I think hygiene is important. I'll definitely ask about pets, I have cats myself, but I think it's normal that I ask these questions, because ultimately it's about my baby's health, and when you hear some of the experiences people share..

    Well, I also said I
Understand the concern... But the way it was said, I had a ? At .... Now not all reception mothers work
Just briefly... My house is vacuumed and cleaned every day .. And on Friday everything is thoroughly wet cleaned and
Dusted off... My cabinets hang above the ground, maybe that's why I don't have that problem ....

You'd expect it to indeed be clean with every foster mother.

There was a cat and a dog running around, the kids were allowed to walk around the dining table, as well as the cat..
I thought daycare providers weren't allowed to have pets or a turtle or something..
    so quite a disappointment..
didn't even have to look under the cabinets, the cat hair was flying around everywhere..
was really disappointed.. too bad that all this is allowed and can happen..
on the whole a very friendly lady, but doesn't seem like a suitable environment for babies or small children..

Hello everyone, what a surprise to see my name here! Let me introduce myself: my name is Svenja and I am a childcare provider with heart and soul. Despite what my name might suggest, it’s the only “foreign” thing about me—I’m truly a genuine Flemish lady.
@ Timon (guest) First of all, I must say how sorry I am that you didn’t throw anything on the floor to check if there was anything under the cabinets... It would surely have surprised you to see that it was clean under there (as clean as possible with 8 kids every day, and believe it or not, we live in our house like that even when there are no kids).
I also want to emphasize that I hope you’ve since managed to find a suitable childcare provider who could meet your needs. I find it very unfortunate that you had such a feeling about us, and I deeply regret that you didn’t dare to address your concerns with me so I could explain things better or help you with the contact details of a colleague childcare provider who might better fit your image.
It’s true that we have a cat at home, but it’s unfortunate that you forget to mention that he stays in the bathroom during my entire workday (10 hours!), far away from all the childcare kids, so he doesn’t come into the childcare areas as long as I’m working! In the evening during my private life (because despite the long workdays and huge dedication to my job, childcare providers also have a PRIVATE LIFE), he can roam freely on the ground floor of our house.
Every morning, I wake up an extra hour early to clean the ground floor! The fact that the floor is sometimes still wet when the first kids arrive is because of that, and not because I shower so extravagantly!
When the (most) messy kids are sleeping in the afternoon, I also do a round with the vacuum cleaner.
Our family also has a dog, that’s true, but you again forget to mention that this dog NEVER comes into the house and only roams around in our PRIVATE GARDEN. It’s also important to know that I was so irresponsible as to divide our garden into 2 parts, completely fenced off, so that the childcare kids can safely play outside in their garden when the weather allows, while our dog always stays in our PRIVATE GARDEN and is put in the garage when the kids come outside, so they don’t have any issues with our dog behind the fence!
When you visited, of course, you couldn’t know any of this since we had an appointment during my “free time.” My son did climb on the table, and as soon as I noticed it, I believe I did take him off and spoke to him about it. I’m very sorry that I didn’t notice it sooner, but since I was sitting with my back to him because I was trying hard to explain how my childcare works, I didn’t see it immediately!
Our cat was indeed roaming around, but I clearly remember saying multiple times that I would put the cat away if you had any discomfort. But you assured me that wasn’t the case since you had cats yourself, and you calmly continued to pet her. Maybe that could be the reason why cat hair flew around???? That happens when you pet a cat.
All I can do now is thank you for calling me a very friendly lady (I do my best for that, and I work incredibly hard every day), after you publicly ruined my name and reputation on the internet!

    Kind regards, Svenja

A lot of people often forget to mention the good points hahaha

Yeah, I also think they forgot that wash????

Just heard this and was surprised to read that someone can just post something on the internet with their full name and then have more than 2 million people read their nonsense. Freedom of speech or misuse of the forum? Please take such nonsense off the net...
We know Svenja very well since our 2 children were there; unfortunately, the first one was already a bit older and she couldn't enjoy the care and good support from Svenja for the whole period.
If there is one model foster mother where we can't formulate any complaints or concerns, where we didn't feel any less good on any day, it's Svenja.
I would like to take a look around at this lady who either posts something on the forum out of stupidity or out of malice. Maybe instead of being anonymous, you should also put your name on the internet like you did with the foster mother's name?
I'm just glad that your children weren't together with my children at Svenja's; you as a parent don't deserve her.

What a terrible load of nonsense from that anonymous guest, too cowardly to even mention their name.
My grandkids both went to see Svenja, and I think—no, I’m sure—you’ll have to look long and hard to find another welcoming mother like her. Is your baby living in a sterile room? I hope not, for the child’s sake. What happens when they start school? Kids are also on the floor at playtime, and some have bigger runny noses than others. You should really think twice before anonymously smearing someone’s name.
Svenja, don’t let it get to you. I doubt those kids have ever changed a dirty diaper themselves—or even thought about it. Those people don’t think about that stuff. Fortunately, we know better.
