Daycare - baby signs

Sounds fun, but it's really important that parents also participate in this, otherwise it's unclear for such a little one whether they are being understood or not with their gestures.

Yes, I’d definitely do it! We use the signs ourselves too and it really works.
Our 13-month-old daughter now tells us when she’s done eating, hears music, sees trees, wants to sleep, etc. So practical.

We took a course via www.babygebaar.nl – very good; because you also learn songs with signs and books to read. Really fun!

    OOOH, Anna that's awesome!
I'd really love to start a daycare in Antwerp.. My partner is deaf, we always speak Flemish Sign Language at home. In my circle of friends there are also a few deaf families expecting, it would be super if there was a daycare where their language is simply understood and signed!

But I'd also like to encourage hearing parents with hearing (and/or deaf) children to use baby sign language.. it makes communicating so much easier!

I'm a bit jealous that you can sign songs and books.. I can have a thorough conversation but I can't translate songs unfortunately, books would work if I read the text first and then convert it to VGT. Thanks in advance for the responses

Can the child still speak normally when they start school? Seems pretty difficult for them at primary school and beyond.
