Levi-John, John-Levi, John or Luca-John

My husband wants to name our son after his dad, John (pronounced like "djon". I don't think it's the most beautiful name, but I'm happy to use it as a middle name for my husband. I'm really curious to hear your opinions. Should we keep John as is, or go with two names?

Nice to name after! I can imagine you're having doubts though! Although I don't mind John, it's not really the most fun name either! I'd go for Luca-John myself! I think Luca is a very sweet, beautiful name! And it sounds nicer than Levi. Personally, I don't have much of a thing for the name Levi... I know several boys with this name and it's usually always abbreviated as "Leef" in our area...

    Good luck!

We also named our youngest daughter after my husband's sister.
He didn't like it at all; he felt that our child wouldn't have her own personality.
But I thought his sister's name was just beautiful, so she got it too.
By the way, both our girls have three names.
    I really like Luca-John.
I don't think much of Levi; it always reminds me of the jeans brand Levi.
    Greetings, Madelene

Hi hi. Thanks for the replies.
One more question: How do you pronounce Luca?
    As "luuka" or "loeka"?

I don't find double names so practical as a nickname. Then John.
I think Luca is a beautiful name. It reminds me of the handsome doctor from ER.

I would pronounce it as "luuka."

I would also pronounce it as Luuka...
We are the first (after many generations) to not name our children after family members!
    Unfortunately, that wasn't entirely appreciated.
Especially the older generation (like my great-grandmother at the time, but also my grandma) felt it was a pity that we didn't continue that tradition... But they respected our choice...
Now (in hindsight) I have a bit of regret! Maybe I should have used that "family" name as a middle name... So not really a double name, but like a baptismal name!
