No ovulation?

Hi everyone,

We've been trying to get pregnant for almost a year now. Unfortunately, no success yet.
In the first few months, we were kind of just 'waiting' – I paid some attention to my fertile days but didn't do anything else like ovulation tests, etc.

I've been tracking my basal body temperature for the past two months. My temperature stays pretty much the same throughout the whole month, except for before and after my period when I see some differences. It seems like I'm not ovulating.
My cycles are 28 to 30 days long (they vary a bit).

Has anyone else experienced this or has any information?

I’m more of an exception than the rule, but temperature tracking (and ovulation tests) didn’t work for me.
When I wasn’t ovulating, my temp fluctuated wildly, and when I was 100% sure I was ovulating, it didn’t go higher.
I just mean to say that you shouldn’t blindly rely on your temperature, as there are more factors at play than just that.

If you get your period every month, you can assume you’re ovulating, because if you weren’t, you wouldn’t get your period.
Unfortunately, this doesn’t say anything about the quality or lifespan of your eggs. If you’ve been trying for a while, you might consider seeing your GP for a referral to a fertility clinic.
If you do go that route, bring along the temperature charts you’ve made so far to show them!

    Good luck with everything!

Maria, it's even so, apparently even if you don't get your period for almost the whole year, you still ovulate. Because my aunt, my mom's sister, sometimes didn't have her period for up to a year and still got pregnant during that time, so that doesn't prove everything either. I'm not really into tracking temperatures, but I think based on the length of your cycle, you have a late ovulation with the 30-day cycle you mentioned. I'd try using ovulation test strips to track your ovulation. Personally, I find that clearer than tracking temperatures. I've never used ovulation tests or anything like that myself. But I think they give more insight into your ovulation than tracking temperatures. Greetings, Madelene

    Thanks for the messages!
You've given me some hope again!

I used ovulation tests for one cycle.. didn't find any ovulation.
They were Action brand tests.. I don't know if they're reliable enough.
I'll keep an eye on it for a few more months and then go to the doctor.

    Thanks again!

A little tip: pregnant and kids dipstick orders work perfectly. Cheap and clear, going up and then down.

    Good luck!
