Crying and crying some more

Hi everyone, here’s a brand-new dad of a 2-week-old daughter.
Obviously something to be really happy about, but... we're at our wits' end.
Since her birth, our daughter has been spitting up her food with such force that a whole bottle would come out through her mouth and nose.
After a few days in the hospital, the doctors diagnosed 'reflux'.
Adding a scoop of Nutritron to each bottle stopped the spitting up

But there's a catch again – our daughter has been crying really a lot these past few days, starting after feeding and lasting until about half an hour before the next feed (every 3 hours).
It looks like colic, pulling up her legs, head thrown back, and crying or screaming intensely!
When she's tired, she dozes off for a bit, then wakes up crying again, and this goes on for 24 hours!
She also passes a lot of gas when we pick her up.

While walking in the stroller, she falls asleep, but once we get home, she wakes up crying again.

Does anyone have any ideas what to do?
We've already tried Infacol drops for colic and various positions, but nothing seems to work
Our spirits are sinking fast.

Oh yes, the main feature of the crib is now 4cm higher and we’ve tried swaddling... Unfortunately, that doesn’t help either....

She gets 80cc of breast milk per feeding.

Oh my goodness, that's so sad. For you both and for her.
I wouldn't know what to do. You've probably already scoured all the websites for working tips.
Maybe an osteopath... to see if there's anything else...
Wishing you lots of strength. I hope she doesn't lose too much weight because she can't keep anything down.

    Hi!
    Yeah, that's really tough.
We had something similar—our son was just screaming for weeks on end.
In the end, we went to an osteopath, which really helped us. After just two visits, we had a calm, happy baby.

Sometimes you just don't know what to do anymore.
Wishing you lots of strength, and hoping your girl feels better soon so you can enjoy her again.

The osteopath is now on our list to call on Monday.
We've indeed read good stories about them online, among other places.

A baby carrier is also on that list, but it's indeed tricky to figure out which one is really good.

At least since switching to Nutriton, she's been keeping her food down, and after exactly two weeks, she was back to her birth weight.

I'll have to knock on wood, but.... she did really well last night
Not once did she cry, and we only fed her when she showed signs of hunger.
We even had a 5-hour stretch in between (what a luxury!)

Hopefully, the Infacol drops, the smaller teat (which she sometimes has a bit of trouble with), and the slightly less Nutriton will contribute to this, and we'll just sing it out until our visit to the osteopath.

Hi Ronaldo, congratulations on your daughter! It sounds like the Happiest Baby method might be a good fit for you. Where do you live? Maybe someone nearby uses this method and can teach you the techniques.

I quickly looked up the videos on Regenesis therapy and the happiest method online and I'm keeping all options open but putting these ones at the back for now.
Until 3 pm this afternoon it was fine but then the "hell" started again....
Meanwhile, my daughter didn't sleep between the last two feeds and left 30cc of the last feed untouched.
After driving around for over an hour with the stroller, she is now SLEEPING peacefully!
It's so discouraging and so pitiful...
Her intestines are rumbling like a carousel at the fair.
Hopefully she'll sleep through the night again, that would give papa and mama a bit of rest

My son also had colic as a baby. Maybe ask at the pharmacy what’s good, because I didn’t use much for colic but rubbed my son’s tummy a lot and walked with him. I was exhausted, but in the end, he always fell asleep.

I also thought about that for a moment, Mia, but we use Pampers—you'd think those wouldn't irritate, right?
At times it seems like there are still spasms (stretching arms, breathing quickly, then pulling legs up completely followed by crying).

Tip for colicky babies: Sab Simplex... not available in the Netherlands anymore but you can get it in Germany. We're lucky enough to live close to the border, but you can also just order it online (through our local drugstore).

Our son had terrible colic, nothing helped. A friend got us Sab Simplex, added 15 drops to the bottle, and from the second day on, a son without colic. I swear by it, it's truly a miracle cure!

Ach... Als het allemaal maar helpt!

Hi, we also had a little one who cried a lot. We actually waited way too long, but in the end we visited an osteopath, and after the first session things improved significantly. He had a few more sessions after that, and now he's a lovely, cheerful little guy! If I had known it would make such a difference, I would have gone much earlier!
    Wishing you strength with it.

Oh no.. So relatable. Exhausting! My son also had reflux, so pitiful. Medicines helped but I found them quite difficult. An osteopath helped, but what was the best purchase for my son was the hammock! One for the crib. He lay perfectly in it and eventually even slept there every night, crib next to my bed, every evening haha! Good luck! And remember that it will pass!
