condolences on the loss of your baby, now IVF

Nathalie
Hi all you lovely (expecting?) moms,

I'm Nathalie (38) and I'm currently going through an IVF journey. We're having an embryo transfer this Sunday! 1.5 years ago, our girl passed away at birth.
Since then, I've been writing a lot. Currently, I'm finishing up the cover of my first book, and I've also been blogging for two months now.
I have a lot I want to share and make a topic of discussion. I notice that not much is discussed about pregnancies that don't work out, miscarriages, loss of your baby, IVF, and much more.
So I find it nice to talk to people with similar situations or if you just enjoy chatting. I simply hope to find some new (online) friends here!
Looking forward to it!

Love, Nathalie

Hi Nathalie, that's so sad about your little girl. It's nice that you're processing your grief a bit by writing it all down. And it's a lovely idea to make everything discussable. It just doesn't make sense for something as important as this to be seen as a taboo in someone's life. The grief that comes with it is already hard enough. And there are so many women who can't share their story, which I find really sad, because miscarriages, loss of your baby, and that whole crazy medical maze have such a huge impact on someone's life. That should just be discussable. I hope this postponement brings you happiness! Good luck on Sunday!

Thank you for your kind words! It won’t happen in one day, but hopefully I can make a little difference in the end.

So incredibly sad about your daughter. You seem so strong.

During our first miscarriage, we noticed that there are many more people who have experienced a miscarriage. We also learned that it was much harder for most women than for men. I've never seen it as a taboo. It's just not a topic at parties or similar gatherings. I also noticed that it can bring up a lot of sadness. Which makes it sometimes difficult to talk about. Many people are therefore also afraid to ask about it.

Isn't it also a bit like that you don't hang your dirty laundry outside? That you don't tell anyone you're pregnant before 12 weeks, which makes it even harder to say that you've had a miscarriage? Fortunately, more and more couples are telling people before 12 weeks so they can be supported by their loved ones.

Nathalie, I hope the transfer was successful and that you'll get to have a beautiful baby! It's super that you're handling it so well!

@Beertje, I think you might be right about that. That probably does have an influence on it.
The cryo was placed this afternoon... exciting!
Thanks for your kind words too!

    Hey Nathalie,

Oh, that's so awful for you. I know how you feel and the grief you're going through. I lost my baby after 34 weeks of pregnancy. (went to the check-up on Monday and everything was perfect, on Wednesday he passed away) :s.
I hope you get some good news soon....

    Hi Kelly

When did this happen? And did you also keep the strong desire for another child afterwards?

    Love, Nathalie

Not that long ago! May 31st this year.
At first no, but after a month yes.
I took the pill again for 2 months and then stopped and got pregnant right away (which I never thought would happen, it never went so smoothly before). Hopefully we'll get positive news next week! And you too, of course!

Wow, that's nice, but it must be so exciting for you guys...

Unfortunately, my period is here again. On to the next round...

    How are you doing now?

Sorry Nathalie :-( good luck in the next round. Did you freeze any embryos or do you have to start over with a new IVF cycle? Hope it works out for you next time!

    Big hug

    Hey,
    Sorry for the late reply.

Everything's fine here! Whenever I get upset or stressed, I immediately get sharp pains in my lower belly—exactly the signal to calm down... I've been feeling really nauseous the past week, and even at times couldn't eat or just managed a few bites, and it felt like I had a whole loaf of bread in my stomach!
    How are you doing?
It's such a shame you got your period!

No worries at all, I'm also not so quick to respond (as you've noticed, haha).
Things are getting better. It was quite intense for a while, but I had another ovulation yesterday, so we're going for it again on Sunday!!!
I'm also very busy with writing and all the surrounding stuff—it keeps me nicely occupied!
