Breastfeeding
breast reduction and breastfeeding
Hi everyone.
In 2006 I had breast reduction surgery.
In 2012 I gave birth to my son.
After 24 hours, they only asked me if my breast reduction was the reason I wasn’t breastfeeding. I’d always been told this before, so I chose bottle feeding.
The nurse, who was also a lactation consultant, thought it was a challenge to try and see if breastfeeding could work.
My son wouldn’t latch on. We couldn’t get him to grasp the nipple.
She suggested that pumping might help. I thought, why not give it a try.
I did this for a week. But because I had an emergency C-section, it all became too much for me.
Now I’m wondering if there are any women who have experience with this. Who could give me some tips...
