Gender was incorrectly determined.

Hi ladies,

My girlfriend gave birth to a beautiful girl yesterday... oh wait... uh... a boy. That was quite a shock because during the ultrasound she was told she was having a girl.

Now the poor little one has to sleep in a pink room and wear pink clothes until we sort it out. Haha, I went shopping for a cute blue outfit and I'll give that to him tomorrow. Dad is over the moon (because he secretly wanted a son...)

Have you ever heard of something like this? I thought with all the modern equipment this wouldn't happen anymore, but apparently I was wrong.

Best, Bebe

    Hi,

3 years ago I gave birth to a beautiful son.
But the worst part was, we had done a chorionic villus sampling around 11 weeks (kind of like an amniocentesis) and they did a sex determination and all sorts of other tests. All the results were good, and they asked us if we wanted to know the sex. Of course, after getting the good news, we couldn't resist. It was going to be a girl because with our previous child we had also done testing and wanted to keep the sex a secret. I thought it was correct, but apparently it went wrong, especially after such a test. We were happy that the baby would be healthy, but we had prepared for a girl: baptism sugar, room decor, and clothes were all in fuscia pink, but we were able to change all of that.

    Hi ladies,

We also know it's going to be a girl. But my gut feeling says so clearly that it's a boy. So I thought a pre-echo might give us an answer... but unfortunately, the baby didn't want to show. She suspected a girl at the pre-echo because she had been trying to see the gender for more than half an hour and couldn't see anything between the legs. And she mentioned that at the 20-week scan, you could clearly see three lines (little sandwich) which almost can't be wrong. Still, I'll ask again at the 32-week scan if it's really a little boy. We're already preparing a pink room. Now I don't mind painting it, and I just hope this baby comes into the world healthy.

But I'm curious. Knowing what it is isn't always nice!!

We've also picked out a boy's name and one boy's outfit and one boy's birth announcement... just in case...

I heard a similar story from our maternity nurse. She also mentioned that those people really had to get used to the idea. It wasn’t that they weren’t happy with having a boy, but they had been so set on having a girl that they weren’t happy at first. Poor thing

Here I am at 30 weeks pregnant. During the 20-week scan, the sonographer wasn't sure, but she guessed it was a girl. A week later, I went back for a check-up with my OB-GYN and asked her again. She said there's a 90% chance it's a girl. Then last week, due to circumstances related to growth restriction, I went to a different hospital, and that doctor also took a look: it's a girl! So if this turns out to be a boy, we've got a problem too: pink clothes and a room that's partly pink/purple

During my 12-week scan, they told me I was 100% having a girl (she had 20 years of experience and also does 20-week scans, and she said she could see it very clearly).. Next week I'm getting my 20-week scan, I'm curious if they'll also think it's a girl there.. Later at 27 weeks I'll have another 12-week scan, so another chance for confirmation or the opposite haha we'll see..
It's quite something, don't you think you're having a girl, and suddenly you get a boy, surprise!

With my son, they did well, so now we'll just have to see! First, I still need to schedule an appointment for the fun ultrasound!

Back then when my mom was pregnant with me, they also thought I was going to be a boy until my birth, and what turned out? Congratulations, a beautiful daughter hahahaha. I don't even like to think about it. Luckily, I'm now buying all neutral-colored clothes until I know the gender. I'm only 10 weeks along, but hey, my closet is already full of neutral clothes because we had to practice for 17 months before we found out, and during those 17 months we bought a lot

I have the same problem. At first they said it was a boy, now they say it's a girl and we can't clearly see on the photos what it is. Could you help if you look at this ultrasound? What do you think?

Well, who knows!! That's why we had a room with yellow and green butterflies as wallpaper. And neutral clothes. Now it also saves us that we didn't know with the first one, but the first months, nr 2 comes through neutral ;-)

I have a strong feeling it's a boy, and I'm the father of the child because I've talked to 2 of my friends who also have kids, and they both have daughters. And both think it's a boy, so my feeling still says it's a boy too.

Oh no! Luckily, we don't like pink for girls or blue for boys.

I have 2 photos of my little one with the gender Rara. What do you think it is?
    Can you see and help?

Someone I know had the same experience with the 20-week scan. They said it was a girl, so everything was pink and they only came up with a girl's name. Then it turned out to be a boy...

If you really want to know what it's going to be, get a 3D/4D ultrasound. They can see deeper and the gender is much, much clearer.

I had a 15-week ultrasound yesterday, and they said I'm having a girl. They said they're 100% sure. She saw three stripes, but I'm still doubting. Can you guys help me?
