Uncertainty

Hi everyone,

I'm new here, so I'll explain everything quickly.
My ex-partner and I have a beautiful daughter who is now 6 years old.
My current partner and I have been trying to get pregnant for almost 3 years now.
We tried for 1.5 years, but it didn't work, much to our regret. We had everything checked, and it turned out my partner is only half as fertile, but everything is of good quality.
Then we started with IUI. We've had 6 attempts, and they all turned out negative.
Last December, we started with IVF, so injections and all that. The first embryo transfer (8-cell embryo) was in January.
12 days later, we had blood taken, but I already knew I was going to get my period. So what came out was negative.
Then we started with hope for the 2nd attempt. We still had 1 frozen cryo (8-cell) from the previous cycle. We had it transferred back on March 16th. Last Friday, March 28th, we had blood taken. Called in the evening and it was positive, but my HCG level was only 38.
Just to be sure, we had blood drawn again on Monday, March 31st. Called in the evening again, and it was still positive. The levels had risen, but not extremely. So I have to come in for an ultrasound earlier than usual next Thursday (April 10th).
Now we're both really nervous. We've been looking up everything. Some say that a low HCG isn't a reason to panic. It could be due to late implantation, it could also be an ectopic pregnancy (EP), it could indicate an early miscarriage.
We were so happy when we first heard the news, and now we're living in uncertainty until we've had our check-up. I'm having a hard time staying positive.
I feel pregnant to the core. Sometimes a dull ache in my belly, I feel nauseous and it gets worse later in the evening. I also feel incredibly tired, but I can't sleep well at night. And for the past couple of days, my breasts have become sensitive. Even wearing a bra is difficult.
Are there any other people here who have experienced this?

I haven't experienced it myself and never had my hCG levels checked. But in my opinion, hCG levels are naturally higher in some women than in others. So a low hCG doesn't always mean something is wrong. Easier said than done, but try to enjoy the fact that you're finally pregnant. You've been through all that medical hassle for the beautiful little miracle growing in your belly. That's been quite a challenge for you both, physically and mentally. You say you feel totally pregnant Try to let that feeling take over. Have you tested at home yet? Maybe a digital Clearblue? Those also clearly show the number of weeks.
I wish you both lots of strength and a beautiful ultrasound on the 10th! And I just wanted to say congratulations on the pregnancy !
