Pregnancy clothes - Sizes

Wow, what questions! No, I didn't buy anything beforehand, only when it really became necessary. In total, a few pairs of pants, dresses, leggings, and shirts. Bought both online and in-store. But here in the Netherlands, there aren't many shops with a huge selection, so online was easier when it came to trying things on and returning them. I was pregnant in winter and we went on a holiday to the sun, so you won't find anything in the stores then, which is why that was also bought online. I eventually bought underwear too, as the regular ones started to feel really tight.

Tips for shops: Miss Etam, H&M, and C&A. Online www.inpositiekleding.nl. The last one was really helpful with sizing. By the way, I just stuck to my usual size, which worked out fine.

Any bad buys? Not really. The dresses from Queen Mum I kept wearing long after pregnancy, and now I wasn't back to my old weight right away, haha. And yeah, my feet did get a bit bigger during pregnancy :-) but they went back to normal afterward, I wore Uggs in the winter anyway.

Good luck!

Haha Marieke, I know, it's bubbling up inside me & all those questions need to get out .
Sounds very reasonable what you bought. I have the "problem" that I know I'm only going to be pregnant once. Something my boyfriend and I have clearly discussed & so I fear I'm going to get a bit crazy with the clothes. I want to put my belly in some nice things & there are quite a few .

Thanks for the tips! I'll go digging into them later .

Those feet are one I'm curious about. I already have a 41.5 & really don't want to go any bigger ...

    Thank you for the reply!

    Greetings

Wow, you've got so many questions. What Marieke says is true. You might stay in the same clothing size, but you could also gain enough weight that you'll need to go up a size or two. In the beginning, when you start wearing maternity clothes, I wouldn't buy everything yet because you might end up having to buy it all over again later. If you want to breastfeed, I think a shirt that drapes over your breasts like a wrap is a must-have. You can wear it during pregnancy and keep wearing it afterward. When your baby wants to feed, you don't have to lift your whole shirt up. You can also look in regular clothing stores. As long as there's enough stretch, like tunics with a lot of viscose. They stretch out completely and still look nice. You can still wear them after pregnancy. As for shoes... around the third trimester, feet tend to swell so much that some need bigger or wider shoes, while others can keep wearing their regular shoes.
