Ladies, I have a question: how long did it take for you to get pregnant with your third child?

Sorry, but is it just me, or do you keep asking questions under different names? Half November means you're only 1.5 months along. People really can't take this question seriously, or does it take that long? Some people have been trying for years and put in a lot of effort. I find this quite hurtful for those going through such journeys. But to answer your question: no, you absolutely don't need to worry! Even if you were already pregnant, you'd be incredibly lucky. Good luck!

I don't know if you realize it, apparently not, but the desire for a third child can be just as strong as the desire for a first or second child. I haven't insulted or attacked anyone. I wish all the strength in the world to all the women who don't have children yet but have that desire, and I empathize with them. I hope their wish for a first child comes true. And I also hope for myself that I'm blessed with a third child. I have a good heart and only want the best for my fellow humans. It's a shame that you interpret everything so negatively. And I don't accept the tone you're using towards me; I'm not happy about it. I don't like being accused of hurting people. You should watch how you talk to someone.

And anonymous, I find that quite long. We're already at January 1st now, and okay, I know I'm impatient, but we're already at January 1st, and I had expected it earlier, which is why I started to worry a bit. My two daughters came earlier, so I wasn't really aware that there are people reading this who are in the middle of such a journey and don't have any kids yet. If I've hurt such people unintentionally, I sincerely apologize. But the way you phrased it came across to me as an attack and accusation. Greetings, Sjemene.

And thanks anyway for your reassurance. I just finished dinner and read your message again, hence these two replies. Best wishes and a healthy New Year to you all. Greetings, Sjemene

Anonymous, I don't quite get one thing from what you wrote. You said, "even if it's already a hit now, you're incredibly lucky." What exactly do you mean by that? Am I maybe too used to it? Since I got pregnant with our princess within 1 month. Greetings, Sjemene.

If I hurt you with that, I'm sorry for that.
I meant to say that in most cases it doesn't happen as quickly as with your first and second child, where you were very lucky.
And I completely understand that when you long for a baby so much, you'd naturally prefer to see it happen today rather than tomorrow.
I've read my message again and it comes across as aggressive, which wasn't my intention.
Good luck and hopefully you'll have a positive test soon.
Thanks and a happy new year to you too.

Hi Anon, I also learned something from you that I hadn't really thought about before. I learned to stop and think about couples for whom getting pregnant doesn't happen quickly, and who are already happy if they can have just one child. I hadn't realized that people for whom having one child isn't easy might look at me strangely, thinking, "At least you have two kids." I know that having children is a miracle, but now I realize even more how much I should appreciate that I got pregnant so quickly with my girls. So your post did have a positive effect; it taught me that I need to be incredibly grateful and that getting pregnant within a month isn't something to take for granted. Sorry again if I hurt women who don't have children yet and are in that process; I was never aware of it, and I wasn't aware at all how strange it might seem to others. I think it's indeed because it didn't take long for me to get pregnant with my girls, which is why it feels like it takes so long for them. Thanks, Anon, for your reply, and I'm glad we understand each other now. I wish you the best.

@annonoem I completely agree with you. I’m the woman who’s been trying for years, has had IUI and ICSI, and still doesn’t have a little miracle. And okay, I wish everyone a child, no matter how many, but it’s just pure luck to get pregnant so quickly, Sjemene.

@Sjemene I truly wish it for you, but everyone knows it’s pure luck if you conceive within a month. The normal time to get pregnant is around 9 to 12 months, I believe.

    Xxxx

hi bloem that's true the whole world knows about that machine and i'm the only one who's crazy but if you get pregnant twice without any problem like i do you really aren't as aware that it can take longer and i'm not even counting the months yet i just think every cycle "how can this be i should be pregnant by now?" i think that's because i've never had to go through so many cycles i hope i've explained it somewhat clearly greetings sjemene

and something else, I've never talked to people in my circle or family about how long it took them to conceive or what's normal, so that's probably also a reason why I don't know how long it normally takes to get pregnant because you always hear that it's pure luck. So anyway, I just automatically assumed, without really thinking about it, that I'd get pregnant with my third just as quickly without really considering that it's pure luck. Maybe what I'm about to say sounds selfish to you, but I don't know any better because I never had to wait long and never had to go through so many rounds. This is new for me, and that's what made me anxious, so I asked here if it's normal? It's a serious question I've been struggling with. Greetings, Sjemene.

    Hi Sjemene,

I totally get where you're coming from... especially when things are going like that in your circle. But I thought my first reaction should be "sorry, but that's pure luck"... maybe I was a bit too triggered, that wasn't my intention.

But your first pregnancy was 4 years ago and then 3 years ago, so you're a bit older and wiser now, and things can take a little longer... or if your husband had the flu with a fever, his sperm count might temporarily be lower... I just wanted to say not to worry too much, just wait and see how it goes, as hard as that is when you really want a baby. xxxx

Hi Bloem, thanks for your reply. I realize now that I'm probably worrying too quickly. I've decided not to make such a big deal out of it. I have my kids, and the third will come along when he or she is ready, I guess. By the way, I was 22 when my oldest daughter was born and 23 when my youngest was born. Now I'm 27. I'm trying to convince myself that it might just take a few months. Greetings, Sjemene

I won't be responding further to this post, but I also have a strong feeling that this is someone who posts under a different name. In terms of writing style and story, it matches exactly. Just a different name.
  14. sjemene Guest #15

Hi Kim, I'm typing on my phone. Am I the only one here who does that?
  15. kim #16

Nope, that's not what I meant either. Sending half a message and then continuing in a new one. And just the way of speaking. And I'm on both topics and the replies come exactly alternating.
  16. kim #17

It could of course be a coincidence, but it sounds the same.
  17. sjemene Guest #18

I don't feel like proving myself, but it's just pure coincidence. I wish you a pleasant day. Greetings, Sjemene.

It's not weird at all that you're not pregnant yet, it says 1 year.
You haven't been trying for that long indeed.
There's absolutely no reason to worry about it. I think you got pregnant very quickly with your kids.
What I'm reading here is more like pure luck, okay.
You've been really lucky with that.
I took 1 year for my first pregnancy and 6 months for my second.
    Greetings, Marie

    Hi there,

I'm pregnant with my fourth baby now.
With our first, we got pregnant right away without even realizing it.
For our second, I stopped the pill, got my period, and that was the last time.
With our third, it took three months to get pregnant.
And now for our fourth, we only had to try for one month before I was pregnant.

So with us, it's always been quick.
