I was so sad, I really cried for nights on end. I felt so weird, so confused and emotional at the same time. At school, my teacher told my mom that things weren't going well with me, and my mom said I was acting up and that the longing would fade on its own. But it only got worse. We really wanted to see my daughter, to hold her just once, but my mom thought that wasn't a good idea. She said I was doing this for myself, otherwise I'd keep her in my head, and I should focus on teenage things and enjoy my youth. I'm 25 now and I see her regularly, but it still hurts because she doesn't see me as her mom, but as her aunt, and I do hold that against my mom a bit. But well, I also could have been a young mom like Esje's mom and had a nice, close bond with my daughter. But unfortunately, and that's putting it mildly, unfortunately, they took that away from me. Greetings, Diana -

You can also be a friend to your child while still having them respect you. Those two things go really well together, I assure you. Greetings, Myrte. -

@Angela O, how nice, congratulations on everything! Actually, since I got married I've been hearing less and less, and if we do make plans, they get canceled the day before or even on the day itself.
And since I gave birth to my son, I've basically heard nothing from anyone anymore. I always try to keep in touch myself, but if I don't ask how things are going or try to make plans, I'd basically hear nothing. Recently I asked one of my best friends if he had time to go for a drink with his girlfriend, my husband, and my son, and he said he was too busy. Well, that's possible, of course, but then I heard from my brother (who is also friends with him) that he was celebrating his birthday. Normally I'd always be at his birthday, and now he didn't even ask me. And that's basically how it is with almost all my friends. I think I only have 1 friend left. But well, I have my husband, sounds cliché but he really is my best friend.
@mommy-of-nyana I completely agree with you! And if your friends just drop you because you want something different than they do, then they're not real friends, I think.

Diana, it couldn't have been me, but I'm happily a young mom. My little girl is now 10 months old.
And to all the others, how nice that you all get to be moms!
Love, sweetheart -

Hi sweetheart, what exactly do you mean by "it couldn't have been me"? I'm not a dumb blonde, but I didn't quite get that, so I thought I'd ask. Love, Diana -

I was 19 when my baby was born in 2010. Got married at 18, young yes but I was sure of what I wanted.
Now we've been married for 5 years, hooray! And together for almost 8 years. We have a 4-year-old son and another one on the way. Can't wait!!
@mommyofNyana what a beautiful daughter you have! You should be proud of her. She's gorgeous.
@ Samantha... Sounds nice, I'd love to!
Greetings, Nikki -

I was 22 when I had my first baby.
My husband and I started dating when I was 15, pretty young obviously, he was a bit older.
We got married when I was 17.
And so I had my first baby when I was 22.
We've been married for 12 years now and very happy with our little family, we now have 2 little girls.
I was consciously aware that I had gotten pregnant the first time, my husband and I never really talked about it together.
But I already knew deep down that I really wanted a baby, a very strong feeling.
People told me I was crazy, that I was giving up my freedom and that I should wait until my 30s.
Because your young years in your... -

You can never get back those 20 years, you'll never get them back.
But my feelings and the longing for a little family weighed much heavier for me and were so strong that I went ahead anyway and never regretted it. I actually think it's beautiful to start at that age. You're at least still close to your child.
You understand their timing better and you're not used to a certain rhythm that you'd have to completely turn upside down.
So I find that ideal.
When Yara, our oldest daughter, was born,
I knew it had to be this way. It felt exactly right from day 1.
I never had any doubts or fears about parenthood. Nothing of that sort. I was very sure of myself and it felt right.
Greetings, Madelene

Hi! I was 3 months and 18 days old when I found out I was pregnant, and 12 days and 19 years old when my daughter was born. I had my second daughter when I was 22, and now I'm going to the GYN because my period is already 2 weeks late, all tests are negative, but the GYN still suspects pregnancy. It's a bit tricky since we weren't trying for a third (but always welcome!) and I'm 25 now. -
