Double kidney pelvis

Has anyone heard of this? My baby might have a double renal pelvis on the left side. The doctor called me yesterday after I came back from the growth ultrasound. I was a bit overwhelmed by the phone call... and I didn't even forward it to him. He said it's not something I should worry about... but yeah, easy for him to say! I can't find anything about it online either...

You should really call the doctor again to ask what it exactly means. This stress you can't afford at the end. Maybe you'll have to take things into account for the future, or maybe your baby won't have any issues at all.
Have you found out more in the meantime?

I’ve been in touch with a doctor again, and it turns out it’s a condition that many people have without even knowing it. The only thing is that the baby needs to be checked for any possible infection right after birth. It could also just be that there’s no infection now or ever, or maybe not until he’s 30 or something. So basically, we’re in a good position because we know about it and can have the renal pelvis checked immediately if there are any issues. But yeah, we’d rather not have had this news...

You're absolutely right, but it's indeed good that you know now. If something comes up, the doctors will know where to look right away.

Yeah, that's how it is... it was just so awkward how they told me.. called her back right away... I was totally stressed!
And now.. well, I feel bad for her, but if that's the only thing.
I'm still on hot coals because I have too much amniotic fluid and my baby is 1.5 weeks ahead in growth.. next Monday growth ultrasound.. hopefully he's kept himself cool haha
I think I might have to give birth earlier otherwise...

Hi! I'm 31 and have double pelvises on both sides. Never had any issues. No infections or anything. They were discovered by chance during a growth scan, but that had nothing to do with it. So don't worry!
