Which health insurance do you have?

Dame
My partner and I are trying to conceive. But I only have basic health insurance. Have you guys taken out supplementary insurance? If so, which one and why? And when did you get it, before your pregnancy or during?

I'm hoping for lots of replies with explanations and which insurance you chose. Thanks in advance!

We’ve upgraded our coverage for a bit. Free Nannycare and no deductible for childbirth/maternity items etc. makes it worthwhile already.

Thanks for your reply, Jess. Did you do that early on or during the pregnancy?

    Hi Dame,

I have supplementary insurance from CZ direct. I'm happy with it. I'm not pregnant yet, but it's indeed useful to check your reimbursement overview. If you don't think it's sufficient, you could switch to a different plan before January 1, 2014.

Good luck! Hopefully a positive test for you soon!

    Greetings,

    Hi there!

I have insurance with CZ and an additional youth insurance. I recently called CZ by chance to ask what the best option is when you're trying to conceive. She advised me to take an additional Family Package, but that's only necessary once you're actually pregnant... Midwives and such are all covered in the basic package.

The Family Package covers more than the Youth Package... For example, maternity care. With a Youth Package, you have to pay for this partially yourself, but with the Family Package, you don't.

I'm going to do that from January 2014 (: although she also told me that when you're pregnant, you can switch at any time during the year, so it doesn't have to be in January!

Thanks for the info, crumbs! It's also handy to know that you can switch over at any time, indeed.
We've been trying to get pregnant for a while now. But if it works out before the end of this year, I can just nicely switch over from January 1st.

Even though you'll get pregnant now, you can still switch on Jan 1st, because you'll only need it next year I'm doing the same, I'm going to CZ supplementary Families from Jan 1!

I know this is an old thread, but I'm in exactly the same situation. I just updated my health insurance because I'm pregnant. But I'm wondering which other insurance policies I should consider once the little one is here. Any tips?
