Don't eat pieces..

Hi Manon,

With my son, the bread would often come out again too.
What helped us was giving him a piece of crust in between meals. At first, a lot of it missed his mouth, but now he gets it all and even eats a regular bread roll in pieces.
At first, I would put it in his mouth against his cheek, but that's not needed anymore.

How much milk should you give according to the CB? We also give 3 bottles; he goes completely wild when he sees his bottle.

Good luck and hope you get some more tips.

Love

    @Manon,

    Too much milk?? I don't always get it either. My son gets 300ml three times a day with cereal mixed in... in the evening he has a thicker cereal mix.. He also gets rice, potatoes, and vegetables... Very little meat, but well, I do offer it to him, just not in big chunks.. He does eat pieces because I've been doing it from the start and not pureeing.. Since I know you can get into trouble with the transition to solid food.. Manon, just keep offering it. You're doing great and you're already learning how certain things work now, in advance for your little one on the way. Then you'll be a full-fledged mom, and count on it, I'm still learning every day too.

    They said that 500 ml is really the maximum, otherwise it's not good for him. Well, I always feel like the CB (Child Health Centre) exaggerates a bit, but she looked so angry about it, haha! But my son is quite big too (almost 80 cm and 12 kg), so it seems to me that he needs a bit more. Besides, he's not fat at all (she said that herself).

    I just went to the supermarket and bought some bread and baby rice crackers, so I'm just going to give him this between meals. Maybe he'll finally swallow it then! Thanks for the tip!

    Thanks for your sweet message. Good idea to mash it right away instead of blending it; I'll definitely do that next time too! I'm giving him a quarter mashed (at the beginning when he's still very hungry) and then the rest with the blender. It does work, it just takes about half an hour to get the first part in, haha!

    Keep offering it and eventually they'll take it, okay? The feeding schedule for babies is just a guideline, but you really need to look at your own little one to make it work. Indeed, give him some bread crusts or soup sticks, and if you ever want to skip his bottle, they also have special baby cereals at the health food store that aren't as sweetened as Nestlé's. Good luck, and everything will be fine! By the way, some kids don't want to eat hard things because it hurts in their mouth when teeth are coming in....

    hahaha nice woman and enjoy your little rascal, it really has its charm to discover how it works with that little one and indeed, take it with a lot of salt.. Fill in what you feel about your son..
    So he is also a tall one, your son, nice I'm very curious later at the consultation bureau what they will say about my son.. that he gets 900 ml a day...
    I don't really care what they say, because he does well...

    Love and have a nice evening meis
