Difficult choice _ 6 months pregnant

keuzen voor meisjesnaam makenGuest ·
I'm 6 months pregnant, and my partner and I are still looking for baby names. We need both a girl's and a boy's name since we don't want to know the gender. We've decided on the boy's name. For the girl, it's a top 2: Nova or Sue.

Thanks for the reply!! Yeah, I thought Sue sounded cool, but my brother has a 1-year-old dog and he calls it Cella. Yeah... that combination (Selah Sue) would just keep haunting us. Also, you can pronounce it very plainly in Flemish (I'm from Belgium).
Nova is almost unknown in Belgium; except for the music group Heater Nova and Novastar.
I also thought Ida sounded nice, but we find Nova a bit more special. Best wishes!

I think Nova sounds really beautiful.. You hardly hear it here in Belgium... I'm also from Belgium we pronounced Nyana for our girl as Ni-jana... You hardly come across it either

    Love xx

    Nova here too!!
I'm also from Belgium, and we chose a name that's not common there or here either.

I love it even more because it makes your baby feel even more unique!
In the Netherlands (my husband is Dutch),
Nova is becoming quite popular now, thanks to the movie "Nova Zembla."

I think Sue is more beautiful..

    @Guest
Sue already knows too many babies named Nova, and I find Sue special
But a name is personal, so if you want to call her Nova, that's your choice...
Wishing you lots of luck with Sue or Nova, we'll hear about it soon enough.

    Love, Ju or rather mavanmi

Maybe a silly question, but is Sue pronounced as Suu or soe?
  9. lilly Guest #10

    how do you pronounce Sue?

    nova
  11. marid Guest #12

Do you not think Sharinta is a nice name? Greetings, Marid
  12. Caroline #13

    I'd pronounce Sue as 'soe'

sue is okay but not really my taste, but nova always makes me think of the program Nova Zembla, so I can't really see it as a name. What do you think of Tuulin or Soelin? Greetings, Marid

I'd also choose Sue, but I have to admit that, like Marid, this isn't really my taste. My preference goes to Sue if I really have to choose between these two names, also because you can't shorten Sue later. I like names like Ilona or Malissa more. Greetings, Marieke
