Pregnant after a stroke/TIA and on medication, who has experience?

Happy
In 2004 I had a stroke and last year I had another TIA. During my intake appointment at the hospital, I was told that I would need to inject 5000 Fragmin every day and also 6 weeks after giving birth. On top of that, I take 80 mg of acetylsalicylic acid (Cardio) daily. I said I needed some time to think about it and went looking for information online. Now I find a lot about girls who have had a pulmonary embolism or deep vein thrombosis and are on this injection, but nothing about girls with a history of CVA. I don't want to have another stroke, but I'm also not very keen on the idea of pricking myself every day. I'm seeing the gynecologist again on Friday, so I hope someone here has experience with this...

    Hi Happy!

Unfortunately, I don’t have any experiences to share with you, but I do have a question. I’m 34 and recently had a stroke. The cause hasn’t been found yet. We still want children. How did things go for you afterward?? I can’t find much to nothing online about young women with a history of stroke who want to have kids.

    So happy!

I'm 25 now, had a stroke in 2012 too, right side, leg weakness..
    I'm 36 weeks pregnant now.
I've been feeling pretty good until last week, but now a bit less so I'm googling for people with experience..
    No success so far..
Wondering how things are for you now?

    Greetings Sharon!!

I had a stroke in 2014. I'm now 5 days late and haven't taken a pregnancy test yet. Could I be pregnant? I already have a daughter who's almost 5.

    Greetings,

    Kristel

I had my last stroke in 2012 on the left side of my body, but I still want children. I don't know if I'm allowed to get pregnant and what the consequences would be. I do know that surgery is no longer an option for me. I'm only 31.

    Hi!
In September 2014, I had a right-sided stroke at the age of 26.
Because I wanted to have a child, I changed my medication at the beginning of this year. I couldn't take clopidogrel, atorvastatin, and perindopril anymore for blood thinning, blood pressure lowering, and cholesterol reduction because they could harm an unborn baby.
Until the first trimester, I can only take Ascal Brisper 38 mg for blood thinning. After the first trimester, I might be able to take more, but the gynecologist will decide that in consultation with the neurologist.
Since I no longer have a blood pressure-lowering medication, I need to check my blood pressure regularly, but luckily it's almost always great.
Now we're hoping to be pregnant or become pregnant soon

    Hi ladies!
Can I ask what symptoms you had? I’m googling myself silly, but it’s nice to talk to someone who has experience with this. My doctor suspects I had a brain hemorrhage (I had very high blood pressure for a long time during pregnancy, so the chance is indeed there). I’m quite startled by this.

    Hi,
I also have to start injections from 12 weeks due to a blood clot in my leg, indeed.
I'm definitely not looking forward to it because those injections are at least... Well, it's necessary and that's that.

I had a stroke on May 20, 2020, and I'm now 11 weeks and 5 days pregnant. I'm taking Cardion 100mg and atorvastatin 40mg. I've also had epilepsy since I was 11. I'm 41 now (my first baby!)

    Dear readers,

I had a stroke in March 2019 at the age of 29. In 2020, a year later, I started trying to get pregnant. I had two early miscarriages.

I stopped taking my blood thinners and cholesterol medication beforehand. I’m now taking Asaflow and have been injecting myself in my belly since month 3, and only recently started injecting into my leg/buttocks (I’m 7 months pregnant).

I’m going back to the hospital for a check-up on January 27th. Both baby and mom are doing well so far.

If anyone has any questions about being pregnant with a history of stroke, medication, advice, etc., I’d love to hear from you!

Hi everyone. I had a stroke at 19 and have been taking Pradaxa blood thinners ever since. Now I want to get pregnant and they switched me to acenocoumarol (or something like that), but I suddenly had to take 9 pills because my blood wasn't thin enough. Which blood thinners do you all take? I have to take them for life, but I feel like no one really knows much about it. Have you had good experiences anywhere where I can get clear answers? Hope to talk to someone who has been through this too. Best wishes.
