hyperlaxity

Emma had a check-up at the child and family health center last week, and they noticed she has more skin folds on one leg than the other. Normally, this should be symmetrical. Also, her legs seem more flexible than usual. (According to them, I think she moves normally, but who am I to say!)

Next week she’s getting an ultrasound, so we’ll know more. Does anyone have experience with this? I’m a bit worried she might need to wear a special brace, but hopefully, it’ll all work out fine.

No experience with this. But that's really annoying to be in such suspense, huh. I don't think your baby necessarily needs to wear those special pants when they're hypermobile. Keep us updated?

Good news, nothing serious going on with Emma's hips, just a slight asymmetry in the growth center of the hip joint that we need to keep an eye on. Such a relieved mom!

Nice to read that it's not too bad for Emma. I find the word "asymmetry" quite worrying, but it's good that they're just keeping an eye on it. Sometimes they seem overly concerned just to be safe, I think. Hopefully, the next scan will show everything is normal again.
