Just tested with Kruidvat 2v5 (well, 2 days before the expected period). As white as can be.
So I guess this month didn't work out again.... -

Ah, Lindsey... That's so tough! When you're longing for new life, it's so hard to have to wait. How long have you been trying?

Hi Lindsey,
I know your situation. My first one was also unplanned (but very much welcome), the second one was a hit on the first round, and now I'm 1.5 years into trying for the third one who just won't come.
I stopped the mini-pill in December 2014 and got my normal period back in October 2015. At first, I tested every month just in case, but I stopped after a few months. Too frustrating.
Now I don't use a fertility app anymore and I don't do tests. We're busy renovating regularly, so it probably doesn't make a difference.
But it's so frustrating that this one is taking so long, while the other two came so quickly.
Did it work out last round, or did you get your period? -

Ah Toetje and Lindsey, that's so incredibly frustrating that it's taking so long! I can't really imagine how you're feeling. With our oldest, it was a hit in round 2, then we had a miscarriage in the first round, and I haven't had a period since. Here, we're hoping for a period after stopping the pill. Still nothing! Toetje, have you seen a doctor yet since it's been 1.5 years? -

No, I haven't seen a doctor yet. My GP said that after stopping the mini-pill, it could take 1-2 years for my period to return, and even once I have a cycle, it might take another year to get pregnant. I've now had a cycle for 10 months, so I'd definitely like to see the doctor in a few months.
I have to say that I was really focused on it in the first few months, but then much less so. Two cycles ago, I thought I was quite late, but I was wrong by a week! Really silly of me. But since then, the anticipation has been extra strong, and last month I was really 4 days late. I was super disappointed that I got my period anyway, because I really felt like it had finally worked out.
Still, I'm quite sure something did happen, maybe an early miscarriage, and that gives me hope that everything is okay inside. And secretly, I do hope I'm pregnant now, because I only had my period for 2 days after being 4 days late... And if not, we'll just wait and see. We already have two kids and we're still fairly young. -

Hi everyone,
I see there's some movement in the topic again, nice!
I'm Lara, 32 years old, and we're also really busy trying for a 3rd child. We're currently on round 11, and secretly a bit frustrated that it's taking so long.
We have a 10-year-old daughter and a 5-year-old son.
My husband and I thought our family was complete like this, but over a year ago, the urge kicked in again, and we decided to go for it fully.
So, off the pill for a year and 11 serious rounds later, unfortunately no baby on the horizon yet.
We're not losing hope, but secretly you wonder... is everything okay? I'm "older" now... and my husband obviously too. (He's 33). Our daughter was born with a strep infection (GBS baby), and after her birth, I ended up with an infection in my ovaries. The gynecologist said it could be more difficult with a next one. But 4 years later, I got pregnant spontaneously while still on the pill... so how crazy can things get?
But now, a year later... it does make me a bit nervous, and my husband too. And I know, luckily I already have 2 healthy kids... and a year isn't that long... but still...
This month (I'm around my ovulation now) we'll see. If it doesn't work this month, we can go to the GP.
I've been trying for almost half a year, and this month I'm using Clearblue's digital ovulation tests, pulling out all the stops (again), hoping for a little one!
How are you all doing? Any upcoming EDDs?
And Lindsey, did you test or unfortunately get your period? -
Welpje #29
Oh, reading your stories, it really doesn't sound fun having to wait so long!
I'm still waiting for my period here.
I've lost the first 20 kilos after my pregnancy. I've got over 10 kilos back now. Do I want to lose those before baby 3.0? Getting pregnant was so fast for us that I think I either have to go for losing weight or for getting pregnant. Losing weight while waiting for a pregnancy probably won't last long, I fear. While reading your stories, I also wonder how long it would take here... -

Hey everyone, sorry for the late reply but I've been really busy. No, unfortunately I got my period on the expected day.. I had to get blood drawn on day 3 for the hormone levels and I'll be called today after 4 PM to see if the results are okay. If they are, they're going to do nothing for another year. Because we have a 42% chance of conceiving naturally next year. If it still doesn't work out after that, then we'll start the medical route. Though I'm not sure if I'm ready for that... so just waiting for the phone call and meanwhile continuing with the renovations.. meanwhile a good friend got pregnant in the previous round. She lives across from us so I'm confronted with it every day. While she had a lot of medical issues that made it seem unlikely, and after 8 months it worked out for her.. nice for her but less so for me..
How are things going for you guys? -

The story above is from me, of course ???????? -
Welpje #32
And... How was the phone call? Did they have any news for you?
And that's great for your friend that she's expecting a baby. Does she know that you really want to try again?
It'll definitely be tough sometimes. I think you can share your disappointment with her, just like your happiness about her pregnancy. Both emotions are okay. Xx -

Oh, so sorry to hear you got your period after all! How did your blood test results turn out?
I can totally imagine your mixed feelings. It’s still so hard when you really want something, it doesn’t work out, and it seems like it happens so easily for someone else.
I’m on the waiting list now... We’ve pulled out all the stops again this month, used ovulation tests again for timing... everything has to be just right. Now we just have to wait and see if it works this time....
Sunday is my NOD. Fingers crossed!!!! -

Here we are again, another month without good news... Exactly a year ago my cycle was normal again. The oldest is starting to nag us more and more for a little brother or sister, although she doesn't know we're trying. How are your kids doing with it? -

Hey sweetie, so sad that it's not working out for you yet either!! For me, it's also been a bit longer than a year since the surgery. At first, we did ask them what they thought about having another brother or sister. They were super excited about it. My 7-year-old daughter wanted to share a room with him or her right away hihi.
At first they asked about it a lot, but lately that's pretty much stopped. How old are your kids? -

The ones we have are already 6 and 9. Wonderful ages, very independent and flexible. Guiding and correcting, the rest happens naturally. That's why there's plenty of time and energy now for a new little one in our family... -

Hey girls, I'm still waiting for my period! I think I've been waiting for 2 months now. Don't mind it though.
The takeover of the company, the new construction of the company and building our own new house seem to be coming closer suddenly. So hectic times!
I just don't want to be on the pill anymore so we have unprotected sex until my period and then we'll try to avoid the fertile days once I know how my cycle goes. So the third is on pause for now, as far as I'm concerned!
