Who else is going for a third baby?

Hi everyone.
I was wondering if there are more of you who are trying for a third child. We've been trying for a while now, but unfortunately, it's not working out yet. It's a bit frustrating because the last two times, I was pregnant right away. But you know, just have to be patient. Most likely, we've had one or two very short cycles since we started, but I'm not sure. I did get a positive result on the Clearblue test at one point. Since then, my cycle has been irregular. Can't really make heads or tails of it. I'm now 34 days into my cycle and waiting for my period. I'm almost certain I'm not pregnant, but the waiting is taking forever. Before the positive test, I had a 26-day cycle. The last 6 months have been between 28 and 34 days. So today, I've exceeded the max, but I'll definitely wait another week or longer before testing again. I've used too many tests unnecessarily now.

    Hi argemma,
I'm now 6 weeks pregnant with the 3rd... Still very early but already so happy.
I've been trying since August and finally got pregnant in February... It did take a bit.
But what you said, I had a 28-day cycle at the beginning and the last 2 months were 24 days, very different and unpleasant.
    I hope you'll succeed soon.
    Keep trying!

I'm now pregnant with our third, just over 22 weeks. I already have two girls and now we're having a boy!!!! Good luck trying to conceive, it'll definitely work out. I got pregnant within 4 months with the first, the second took a while, it took 3 years, and now I was pregnant within 5 months.

    Hi hi,

@mama3: congratulations on your pregnancy. Already 22 weeks. Did you just find out it's a boy, or did you find out before 20 weeks?

Great news here, very unexpected: I tested positive today, but I still can't believe it. I don't feel pregnant at all compared to my previous two pregnancies. Really weird. I did the test expecting a negative result, so I was completely surprised. I could scream with joy. Even with our first, I knew for sure I was pregnant a day before the test. And with our second, even way before my due date. Did you also experience the early stages of pregnancy so differently each time?

    Hi argemma,
Congratulations.....! Yes, I also experienced all 3 pregnancies differently...the first one I was throwing up before I even knew I was pregnant.
The second one I was really tired and noticed changes in my body...and now actually not much, just my breasts are a bit tense but otherwise no complaints. If the test really shows pregnant, otherwise I wouldn't believe it either.

    Hi.
@Argemma, congratulations on your pregnancy! Enjoy it!! We already knew before the 20-week scan that we were having a boy. We had a preliminary ultrasound done, and they could see it very clearly. I was 18 weeks at the time. Meanwhile, two other OBs have also confirmed that it's clearly a boy!

    Hello ladies,

Congratulations to all of you on your pregnancies! We're also trying for our third baby. We've been seriously trying since September, with a month off in between. So far, we haven't been pregnant yet, but we can test in 7 days. With my first two pregnancies, the early stages were very different. With the first one, it was very obvious, but I didn't dare to hope because I'd had negative tests for a year and a half after two miscarriages. With the second one, it was more of a feeling than actual symptoms. Today, after having a bowl of custard, I felt a bit nauseous, but it's probably in my head, or maybe I have a bit of the flu. Enjoy all your pregnancies, and I hope to bring good news soon.

    Hi ladies,
I stopped the pill in September 2011, get my period regularly but have been trying for 17 months!!!!
With my first two pregnancies, it was super quick—I got pregnant after just 2 months. I had a miscarriage after 3 years but luckily got pregnant again after 4 months. Now we really want a third child but it’s not working out!!!!

@mamiangela: so funny that you also experienced the early stages of the three pregnancies differently. I still feel very little, but like you, I have that positive test to hold onto. Exciting again, huh? Have you called the clinic yet?

@ster: strength while waiting! I hope your intuition is right and that it's not the flu! Good to take a break for a bit. We also had the plan that if it didn't work out this time, we'd put things on hold for two or three months.

@nuran: so sad that it's not working out right now. I hope it happens soon for you two! I thought it took a long time for us, but those few months are nothing compared to your waiting time.

    hey argemma..
it's funny how everything turned out so differently... but it's really frustrating that I don't have any symptoms yet! Just swollen breasts... I keep looking at my test... or maybe I'm lucky and won't have any symptoms.
Yeah, I already called a midwife.....
The one I worked with 2 years ago loved being a midwife so she became the one.
I could have done Feb 26 but unfortunately couldn't so it's March 1!
    So exciting!

    greetings angela

Sorry for the late reply. I also think it’s so weird that I don’t feel anything more than just a bit of sore breasts. Although I didn’t feel anything with my first either. But I do often have cramps and lower back pain. I find it super exciting and can hardly wait for the first ultrasound. It’s nice that you can already go to the midwife on March 1st. I haven’t called yet because they told me with both previous pregnancies that I only need to come around 9 weeks. I’ll schedule an appointment next week anyway. March 1st is coming up soon for you, luckily. Yesterday I informed my parents. They were absolutely thrilled. For now, we’re keeping it quiet though.
    Greetings.

    Hey mamas,
We have two big boys :-) all good! But I’m still missing someone... So we’re going for a third now. We’ve been trying for about four months, the youngest is seven months old now, and I haven’t taken the pill in between. But my cycle has already been 34 days for two months now :-( Hopefully it works this time :-)
    Good luck to everyone!
    Xxxx

    @argemma
We're also just pregnant with our third.
    Fourth round.
Exciting! Any one else due in November here?
    Love, xxx

    Hi everyone,

It's been quite a while since anyone has replied here. We've been trying for a third baby for over a year now. Our daughter was an unplanned pregnancy—I was just using contraception. With our son, it worked right away in the first round. And now it just won't happen... Next week I have an appointment with the fertility specialist to figure out the next steps. I'm really nervous, but also very frustrated that it was so easy before and now it's not working out. I'm 27 and very healthy, and during the tests nothing was found that would explain why I can't get pregnant...

    Hi ladies

Good luck to you all!! And congratulations to those who are already pregnant!!

We're also trying for our third baby. I'm 5 days past my period and tested negative today.

But it's still quite early. I do have a lot of symptoms, but well, that doesn't mean much these days haha.

So on Saturday I'll know for sure if I'm pregnant. So exciting!

    Hi Lindsey,

It's indeed been quite a while since anyone last replied here, over 3 years I think. How nice that you're hoping for a third child too. How awful that it hasn't worked out yet. But it's good that you're getting help now.

Wishing you lots of success, and I'm rooting for you!

Mama2, you too—lots of success, and of course I'm rooting for you too!

Oh my. I'll just jump in here instead of starting my own thread.
We have two boys; 2.5 years and 9 months old, and we'd really like a third.
My pregnancies were fine and complication-free, except that I was feeling pretty rough until 20 weeks, had quite a bit of morning sickness (definitely 1-2 times a day) and kept throwing up all over my neck for EVERYTHING!
Our love is great, our hearts even bigger, and financially we can handle it, I think. The only thing I'm unsure about is the space in our house. We have two bedrooms. We sleep in one, and the boys share the other. We could renovate the attic, but then the roof needs to be renewed and a lot of work has to be done, while we have plans to build a house, but well, those plans have been there for two years already. Hmmm... For a baby, it takes 9 months, then I want to breastfeed again so the baby will sleep with us for a few months-half a year anyway. And then? Ooooh... A real head-scratcher for me!

    Oh that's sad, Mama2.
Indeed, on to the next month, new round, new chances.
My period is on Tuesday, Sept 6.
I feel all sorts of things but dare not hope for anything. Already so disappointed.
Yes, it's definitely better to get pregnant naturally. The frustrating part is that it was so easy last time and now again and again a negative test.
If it hasn't worked by next summer, we'll have been at it for 2 years and we'll be eligible for IUI or IVF. I hope it won't be necessary because it's a heavy process.

Little one, how long have you been at it or are you still hesitating to start a third?
  18. Welpje #19

@Lindsey, I stopped taking Cerazette (the mini-pill that's allowed during breastfeeding). It's been about 3 weeks now and I haven't had my period yet. We're not using protection now. We're pretty bad at that, by the way. I still have a partially opened family pack of condoms left x).

So we really want a third child, but... is now the right time for that? While we also don't want to be held back by material shortcomings or anything like that.
  19. Lindsey Guest #20

    Hey Welpje,

Okay, so you have to wait a bit until you get your period again after the pill.
Yeah, we thought about that too.. we now have 2 kids and 3 bedrooms.
You'd say everything's already taken. At first, the little one will stay in our room, and after that, one room will be shared by 2 kids.
We've also thought more often about whether it was really that convenient. But I'm convinced it'll work out fine.
We've done a lot of DIY work in the house, so we've waited a bit to try for a third.
But if I had known it would take so long, we would have started earlier.
What I'm trying to say is that you never know anything in advance. Unfortunately, you can't always time things exactly how you want.
If you really want a third, I'd go for it. The rest will all work out fine!
