Vaccinating

Does anyone here have experience with the coronavirus vaccine while pregnant, and if so, which week did you get it? I'm really scared that something might go wrong because I haven't been vaccinated yet. Everything else is fine with the baby and me—I'm as healthy as can be. My only question is: could it be harmful if I get vaccinated? Would I get birth defects or even a miscarriage at 16 weeks? I don't know what to do because of the stress and pressure from everything around me. Maybe you can help me out? The website says it's safe and nothing bad will happen. But what if it does? I could never forgive myself...

I got my booster shot last week, I'm 32 weeks pregnant. I live in Belgium and work in healthcare. It was my own choice and I feel 'safer' because of it, also for my unborn baby.

You have to decide for yourself, but please get informed by doctors, not Facebook and all that other nonsense. An article came out in the Volkskrant (NL) this week about the problems a Corona infection can cause, especially in the second half of pregnancy. Maybe you can read that. Personally, I might not get vaccinated before 12 weeks, but after that I would, because your immunity as a pregnant woman is already lower, and a Corona infection (even if the mother has mild symptoms) isn't always harmless for the baby. By the way, I'm not interested in debates here, and I'm all for freedom of choice, but then it should be an informed choice. Good luck with your decision. It's just really unpleasant to have to make these kinds of choices during the exciting time when you're pregnant.

It's obviously your own choice, but given the sad stories of pregnant women who got infected and now regret not getting vaccinated, it does make you think.
I chose to get vaccinated and was vaccinated at week 17 of my pregnancy. I really wanted to wait until after the first trimester. I only had a sore spot and a slightly stiff arm, but otherwise no issues at all, and honestly, I wasn't scared anything would go wrong either.
I'm now 35 weeks pregnant. Just dealing with the usual pregnancy discomforts haha, and I have absolutely no regrets about my decision. I just think it's all for a healthy pregnancy and your unborn baby

    Good luck making your choice!
