Baby bath or in the big tub?

Hey, quick question for the experienced moms here
We're expecting our first baby. My mom is giving me tips from all angles. Now she wants to convince me to invest in a 'baby washing station' with a tub.. We just wanted to wash him in our big bathtub (or in a small tub in the bath). But according to her, this isn't feasible with such a little one.. A washing station quickly costs around 200 euros, so I'd really like to know if it's really worth it! Do you also prefer a tub on legs during the first months?
Thanks!

A baby bath on an iron foldable stand isn't really that expensive; you can just fold it up and put it away. It's very easy and handy!

I did have a baby bath with legs, and used it a lot because of the convenient height; a regular bath is so low. If you don't want to buy this one, you could also go for a bath support/mat. I had one too and found it super nice! You don't have to keep lifting the baby, they can just float nicely (under supervision, of course). I got mine from Doomo.

Hi Kiwi, we always used a small baby bath on an iron foldable stand for the first few months. You can get one for under €50. I’d really recommend getting one, because you need to be able to bathe the baby easily yourself, especially if you’ve just given birth or aren’t physically fit yet. It’s nice to be able to stand upright. Also, you need to disinfect the bath with alcohol before filling it with water, since it has to be very sterile for a newborn. You also have to hold the little one with one hand so they don’t slip away, while washing and bathing them with the other hand. You wouldn’t want to disinfect the big bath for that. If needed, you can buy the stand second-hand on Marktplaats and the bath new.

Hi, thanks for your advice! A foot bath is indeed a good alternative! Less expensive than that washbasin and really necessary.. So we'll do that!
