Blood test results

Hi, hi, I’ve just started the process with the gynecologist to try to get pregnant. We already have 2 kids. It worked right away the first time, both times. The kids are now 11 and 9. Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to get pregnant for the third time. We’ve been trying to conceive naturally for a few years. Today I got the blood test results in my file, and I have an appointment with my gynecologist on Wednesday. I was wondering if anyone here has a bit of knowledge about this and could help me get started?

Anti-Müllerian hormone: 3.5
Progesterone: 51.50
Free T4: 16.5
TSH: 0.59

Progesterone and free T4 are perfect I can't help you with the other 2. For me, they were 40 and 11 and that was already good.

Haha those question marks were an emoticon from my keyboard and aren't visible here.

What path did you eventually follow?

It won't be due to your values Has your husband had a semen analysis done yet? We're not in a treatment program; my husband absolutely doesn't want that. He has extremely poor sperm, even way too low for IUI, but we've already been blessed with two little miracles, so we know we're fertile

My husband's sperm analysis was actually really good. So that's not the issue.
It's so nice that it's working out naturally. I'm curious what the gynecologist is going to suggest to us on Wednesday.

Then I think there's nothing wrong with either of you. In that case, you'll need to try on your own for another half year first, and then you can start with IUI. But maybe you can start right away—I'm really curious too

Yes, we've been trying for a few years now without any success. We've now been referred to get some help.

Special because nothing was found for either of you

    Is it sure,

With your blood test results looking fine, they say that a treatment trajectory doesn't add much value, so they'd rather you try on your own for another half year. At least that's what my gynecologist says, but every gynecologist has a different opinion, so I'd just ask if you can start right away

Indeed, nothing came out. We're starting IVF treatment in December.

Why not IUI or ICSI if I may ask?

Because everything is fine: hormones, egg supply, sperm from the partner, ovulation, regular 28-day cycle. That’s why they suggested doing the fertilization outside the womb and then putting it back.

I get the point, because conception inside the womb hasn't worked in the past few years either, so why would it work now? It's nice that you can start so quickly though you've waited long enough anyway

Yes, let's hope for lots of luck for everyone. ????

I’m so happy to share that after a turbulent period, I’ve tested positive. Exactly 2 weeks after my mom’s sudden passing and a month before starting our IVF journey. I’m now 6 weeks pregnant. Fingers crossed ….
