Yeah! Long day Just a full workday. My mom came over at 9 in the morning and left again at 5 or 6 in the evening... So I didn't find it nice at all... I'm glad we arranged for her to just visit us for shorter periods.

    Hey Mommy,
No, I don't really like the idea either.
We spent the first days lying in bed for a long time with just the three of us, admiring our little girl, and with a maternity nurse at home, I can't really imagine that. You'd want to get dressed up and look nice, and I'd rather make my husband's eggs myself in the morning!!
I'd really feel uncomfortable with that.

But did I understand correctly that you're required to do it for a short time??

I don't think it's mandatory in the Netherlands. By the way, we were really happy with our maternity nurses! I had two different ones; the first one stayed the longest, and I'm glad about that because I got along best with her—she was a very kind older woman. The second one was a bit more of a tough type, I'd say. She was nice too, but just not really my type . It was nice to have someone around to do the housework, but once she was gone, we could really enjoy our little family of three.

Had a top maternity nurse for the first one... we also had the biggest laugh... she even called me privately a week later to see how things were going, and I had some questions she helped me with. Really top!

The second one was also an incredibly nice person!! Turns out she was the girlfriend of the first maternity nurse we had (how coincidental).

Now for the third, I requested the maternity help we had with the second one (the first one only does 40 hours), and we had 24 hours with the second one, and I've requested that again now...

I'm also in constant contact with her via Facebook, so she submitted an application to work with us and it was approved... due next week... it's so nice that she's coming again:-D

    Hi Cin,

Do you also have maternity care from De Waarden? If so... give me a tip about those 2 top maternity nurses then

I'm having a scheduled C-section in the 3rd week of May, so I'll get 40 hours of maternity care (at least that's how it was 9 years ago with my daughter).

I'd also really like a really nice and especially cheerful maternity period

How are you doing? Still exciting, just one more week

I didn't have a maternity nurse because Lucas had to stay in the hospital for 2 weeks.
16 years ago with my daughter, I did, and even though I'm quite private, it was lovely to have someone around who kept things running so we could focus all our time on our baby and ourselves.
We had an amazing person back then, who made sure we got everything we needed and even said goodnight to all three of us in the afternoon!

I don't have postpartum help. Lovely, my own mother helped me and did the same for the second one. She keeps busy with my toddler, so I can sleep nicely with the baby. All good.

Our second little boy was born 4 weeks and 2 days ago. We were so happy with our maternity nurse... especially since we were in the middle of moving, pffft, but we ended up well thanks to her and the rest of the family... mothers, fathers, etc.

I work in postpartum care myself, and I've always had happy families. It's lovely work; they're indeed a bit like caring mommies.

I also have a child. I had 49 hours of care and a home birth, but even I wouldn't want full care again.
I'd go for the minimum of 3 hours on one day for my second child.

I don't really feel like having such long care either.
