Burnout and pregnancy

Hi Mandy,
That’s complicated! Here too, after a long break due to mental health issues (depression and complex PTSD), we’re trying for the first round again. I’m now working 18 hours again, and that’s going well, and my therapists reacted positively to us taking this step. If you haven’t fully recovered from your burnout and are receiving treatment for it, I’d advise you to discuss this with them. Even just to get your own thoughts in order. I noticed that in my therapy, I started feeling more and more rushed because of the desire for a child. I’m glad now that one doesn’t have to interfere with the other, although I obviously don’t know how I’ll feel if we have to deal with disappointment every month again, or how it’ll go if we do get pregnant (I don’t have children yet, after all).

Love,
Muk

    Thanks for your reply, muk.
I've been out of therapy for 1.5 years, and since last summer also off the medication. I'm still taking oxazepam when needed. But yeah, with all the corona stuff I couldn't do anything, and having the kids home a lot has caused some tension again. It feels like my body is just completely acidic. I'm going to start physio and breathing exercises again to relax my body more, and of course plan more moments of rest and relaxation for myself. It remains a tough choice.
If I knew it would be much better in half a year, I'd wait, of course.
But it's already been 3.5 years, and now it's at the stage of either now or never.
    So the doubts are huge.
