IVF 225 Gonal-F

Hi ladies,
Who else here has a low AMH and is going through or has gone through an IVF cycle with 225 Gonal-F?
What was your yield in terms of eggs/embryos?
At the baseline scan, were there 5 or 6 follicles visible? And I just started stimulation. Can more develop?
Looking forward to connecting with others since my courage sometimes sinks into my shoes

Hi Roos, we're in the same boat. I just finished my 2nd ICSI attempt. We're now eagerly waiting for the results. The first attempt was with Cetrotide and Gonal-F 225. I had 5 follicles and 3 eggs. 2 fertilizations, but unfortunately, it didn't lead to the desired result. This round, we tried Meriostat. I had a similar yield. And again, 3 eggs and 2 fertilizations. Wishing you lots of success!

    Hi Lira,
I don't know what cetrotide and meriofert are. Are you going to a hospital in the Netherlands?
I inject Decapeptyl alongside Gonal-F to suppress the cycle. Is that the same as what you're using?
I find your result pretty positive, 2 embryos. Unfortunately, they don't stick though. But well, you can have that even with 4 embryos. I'd jump for joy with 2 embryos, though I secretly hope for more. But I think I shouldn't get my hopes up. Then it can only be a pleasant surprise.
Wishing you lots of luck this round too

Yeah, that's similar. I had Decapeptyl instead of Cetrotide this round too. And Meriofert is a urinary hormone, while Gonal-F really comes from the lab. That means Meriofert also contains a little bit of LH, I was told. Yeah, I'm just at a hospital in the Netherlands. Every hospital does it a bit differently. For the IUI we went to a different hospital and also had a different hormone name. Then I had Fostimon. I'm definitely happy with 2 embryos. Of course I'd rather have more, but I'm grateful we have embryos at all! It's still a bit suspenseful whether the 2nd one has grown enough to freeze. I hope the transferred embryo stays well. So exciting. When are you due back for the ultrasound?

Yeah, I get that it’s nerve-wracking. Every step in the process is super stressful. But they told us we only get one round/attempt if the yield is low. I just don’t know where the line is drawn.. But anyway, one step at a time. Hopefully a 2nd round won’t be necessary either.
I have another ultrasound next Friday. Hopefully they can schedule the puncture then and I don’t have to keep injecting for longer.

That’s exciting too. To find out how you react to these hormones and whether the follicles are growing nicely. Because with me, it was different with IUI compared to IVF. By the way, I started my injections on a Wednesday, and exactly 2 weeks later on a Wednesday, I had the egg retrieval. So indeed, step by step. First, aim for Friday based on what the ultrasound shows. Lots of success!

    Hey Roos,
    How was the ultrasound today?

The ultrasound was quite disappointing. The first one showed no growth, and in the second ultrasound, two follicles of 9 and 10 mm were seen. I have to come back this Sunday. I hope these have grown to 18 mm or more by then.

And somewhere in the back of my mind, I hope that one extra has developed by Sunday. But I have no idea if that's even possible. I think the difference would be too big compared to the two that are already there.

So a puncture for 2 eggs???? And then you still have to hope that both can be retrieved and fertilized... My courage really sinks into my shoes sometimes..

Hey Roos. Wow, what a nerve-wracking journey it is, right? With so many steps and so many moments where things could go wrong. Just know that you're incredibly strong to get through this. All that uncertainty. I'm rooting for you that something good came along today. Or that the 2 that are there have grown beautifully. No matter how hard it is, keep hope. You're not alone.
Unfortunately, our 2nd ICSI attempt failed I still haven't dared to ask if the 2nd embryo has grown. I'm so afraid of bad news. We'll contact the hospital after Easter to see how to proceed. First, though, we need to process this new disappointment.

Hey Roos, I'm rooting for you that they are 2 really beautiful eggs! And indeed, who knows, maybe one will still have a growth spurt. Although I understood from my own experience that if they're under 10, they actually don't expect them to make it anymore. But you never know. Maybe one had hidden well. Good luck tomorrow.

I did have contact with the hospital. Unfortunately, the second embryo didn't make it to the freezer. I was already afraid of that. I'm worried about it now. Because in those 2 attempts, nothing made it to the freezer, and no pregnancy either. So the embryos stop dividing. I'm curious if we can still do something about that. But I'm afraid that the quality just isn't optimal due to my low AMH. Anyway, we have an evaluation talk next Thursday.

Oh no, really???? Oh, that’s so disappointing, girl. I totally get how you must be feeling right now. Feeling down, questioning everything, and wondering how to move forward.
I’m afraid my results might end up the same, especially since my AMH is also super low at 0.13.
But I don’t think you can really compare two women with the same AMH level. It’s just a matter of waiting to see how your body reacts. But the uncertainty is the hardest part of all.
Wishing you lots of strength and comfort, girl.

Hey Roos, thank you for your kind words.
I was thinking of you today. How did it go? I hope the puncture went well and you got good news.
