Introductions
Just introducing myself
Hey everyone
I'm Kristel, I'm 33 years old, and I've been with my fiancé Marco, 39, for 33 years. We've been trying to get pregnant for about 6 years now. I should mention that I have Type 1 Diabetes, so there was also a period where I wasn't allowed to get pregnant until my blood sugar was stable.
But once that was achieved, we tried on our own for sure 2 years without any result, unfortunately.
But in December 2020, we contacted the hospital again with the gynecologist, and on January 20th we had an appointment. I first had to have blood drawn, and luckily everything was fine, including my sugar and thyroid (I also have an underactive thyroid).
After a phone call with the GYN after 2 weeks, I got medication to induce my period (I have a very irregular cycle) and became menstruating on Feb 28th... this one was quite intense, and I also got Letrozole which I had to take from day 3 to day 7. On March 11th, I had an ultrasound to see how my egg was growing; luckily it was already 18 mm at that time, and they said it would rupture within the next 4 days.
And that was correct too; last Monday, March 15th, I had my ovulation and we had a nice time.
But now we have to wait, and if there's one thing I can't do, it's waiting.
I find it nice to be able to share my story sometimes.
