Which round are you in?

Olivia
Hi everyone!

My name is Olivia and my partner and I are trying for our first baby. I'm 23 and my boyfriend is 28.
Currently, we're in round 4 and I'm having a hard time with it. I'm aware that we've only just started, but due to my eating disorders in the (recent) past, I'm afraid I might have more trouble getting pregnant. Also, many family members got pregnant within 3 months. That obviously doesn't mean anything at all. That's just how it turns out!
Next week, I'm going to a fertility clinic to discuss everything.
By the way, I've already been taking folic acid and vitamins for 3 months. I don't smoke or drink.

Now, I'm really curious which round you're all in and how things are going for you????

Round 8 for a second child. Not everything in life comes your way within 3 months.

Good luck, I hope you get a positive test soon.

@olivia here in round 4, third baby. With the first two, it took 12-14 months, so unfortunately, there's no other option than to be patient. How tough that is!

    Hi Olivia,
I'm 28 and we've been trying for our second baby for two years now. Our first one came spontaneously right after we stopped the pill, and now we're in a whole hospital procedure with no obvious reason why it's not working.
We tried for a year with hormones (FSH pills and injections, ovulation induction, etc.).
Now we've had the first IVF egg retrieval, unfortunately only one embryo was good enough and it has been transferred. We're now in the two-week wait and it's so exciting. Especially since we don't have any "backup" embryos.
Good luck ?????? Hopefully, your big dream will come true soon!

@olivia round 4 is really still very short on average, it takes a year, but of course every extra month of waiting is one too many I also have an eating disorder but with a healthy weight

Hi Olivia, I also found it mentally taking a long time. Now in round 5, suddenly pregnant.

    We were impatient too.
In the end, first baby = round 7 and second baby = round 6.

    Greetings

Just curious: What do you consider as 1 round? 1 period? Or 1 treatment?
  8. peetje42 #9

I consider your first cycle after your period when you ovulate as round 1...
  9. Elvira #10

@peetje42 well, I'm actually in round 26 because I once had no ovulation
  10. peetje42 #11

@Elvira yeah, that could also work. But I wouldn't see that as a round then since you wouldn't have had a chance that month either... and luckily that's just an exception for you!
  11. Elvira #12

@peetje42 whether it's 26 or 27 rounds, there are definitely way too many
  12. LindaM #13

    Okay, clear!
Then I don’t even know how many “rounds” I’ve had. I wouldn’t even know the rounds of treatments anymore...

    Hi ladies.
I'm just reading along for fun.
We only stopped the pill last month, so I'm still waiting for my period. Hopefully it'll come back soon so we can start trying for our second little miracle.
Wishing you all lots of strength while you're waiting.
    Hugs, Mandy

This is round 8 for us already! Well, each round there's one too many. Patience and keep believing in it. Turn sadness into hope and stay positive. And don't look at the girls who are 'blowing' (meaning they got pregnant easily). Hopefully it happens spontaneously...

Wow, thank you all for the comments. It's quite intense to read that some of you have gone through a tough journey. I know that 4 months is super short, but I'm really the typical impatient type, ha ha.

Sweet messages Good luck to everyone!!

Makes sense, Olivia, I totally get it haha.. Now I'm at the point where I'm done with it. I mean, done with constantly dealing with it.

    Stay positive, best wishes, An

    Hey Olivia,
With my first son, I was pregnant in the second round.
Now we're trying for the first round (after having my IUD removed on Feb 8) for a second child. But with a new partner after being in a relationship/marriage for 11 years. So a different man, no idea what it'll bring. Still a bit of a search.
And for the ladies who are waiting, hell find them?! Count me in!

@zonnebloem what a story! First of all, I hope your values are good at the end of the month and you get the green light. Second, I totally understand that this doesn't feel like round 2 but feels much longer. I also had to wait 7 months to de-pill before I got pregnant again, and from then on I could only start counting, but in my head I've been dealing with it for 7 months longer.
Again, hopefully your blood values are good and you can just get started!
