Definitely great!! I'm curious about your first ultrasound, you're having that today, right? I'm going to see the midwife for a check-up soon. Congratulations!

Thank you! Yes, I'll be called today indeed Oh nice, listening to your heart?
  3. Orchidea #63

Yes, hearing the heartbeat, blood pressure, etc. Within 10 minutes you're out again, and already made some appointments for the future. Now waiting for the measured curtains for the baby's room and the new baby monitor. Haha!

Wonderful news for you still, what a beautiful scan. Enjoy. What did your partner think?

Nice things then . My partner who thinks it's super cool. And said that he's a bit more relaxed now than with the previous tests. I'm really happy now too. Just called the doctor to report it. But we're really super happy
  5. Orchidea #65

Yes, definitely. Oh, that's so nice! Yeah, it'll feel more real for you if you can register with a midwife's practice and let your GP know.

Yes I only had my first ultrasound at 7-8 weeks . I would have preferred it at 6... but oh well, I'll get the due date later My first appointment with the midwife is on November 17th.
  7. Orchidea #67

That still sounds so far away. Is that the intake in November or is it also the ultrasound?
  8. Babytje4 #68

Baby girl at 6 weeks, they see nothing. That's why you're getting it so late.
I have salmon-colored discharge when wiping, hoping it will disappear again. 6dpo

Amelie, I also had an ultrasound at 6 weeks. They saw a gestational sac and a beating heart. They also confirmed that it was implanted in the right place. Yes, you don’t see a “little baby” yet, but you won’t see that until around 9 weeks anyway. So with such an early ultrasound, you can already see quite a bit. However, many midwives only schedule ultrasounds from week 7 onwards because there’s a chance the heart might start beating later than 5.5 weeks, which could cause unnecessary worry.

Amelie, the reason I really wanted to have the ultrasound is because of a previous miscarriage . To actually see if everything is developing well. And oh my. It could still be an implantation bleed, right..

@ orchidea The intake is only in November at 10 weeks. And I had to schedule the ultrasound date at another center. But I'm still waiting for the email with the date. I think once I have that info, I'll give them a call to ask if it's possible at 6 weeks.

@beertje do you already know when your first ultrasound is, or did I miss that?
  12. Babytje4 #72

BEERTJE yes, I think I'll be like that too, but I remember when I went, the gynecologist said, "I don't see anything. Are you sure your test was positive?" I said yes, definitely, even a thick dark line. Hope you get good news. The first ultrasound is always the hardest for me because we always wonder if the heartbeat is there or not?

Sweetie, I unfortunately got mine quite late too, and over the phone for the intake. Hopefully, you can come in earlier for your own peace of mind, otherwise it might be a good idea, for yourself, to get a paid early ultrasound. I did that, I wasn't allowed to come in until 7.5 weeks otherwise, due to my miscarriage and the fact that we had been trying for two years for this baby, I felt there were enough reasons to get an earlier scan. I found the early scan at 6 weeks comforting. So much panic and restlessness left my head when I saw the little heart beating and a tiny embryo growing in my belly. Of course, there are risks with early scans, there's a chance the heart might not be beating yet, but we took that risk, we had so much at stake, we'd just see. If it is, it's fantastic news, if it isn't, we can live with that too and hope to see heart action next time. It's really what you want for yourself. I completely understand the restlessness, I had it, and sometimes still do. This pregnancy feels more sensitive because it was so desired, and with the miscarriage in between, brr. But anyway, think about it, and hopefully, you'll just get your early scan.

@amelie I totally get it. But this makes me so anxious.

@orchidea thank you! I'll indeed take some time to think about it because my mind keeps going from hope to doubt. But it's reassuring to see that everything is okay, and it's even better if there's a heartbeat. I'm focusing too much on the fear instead of enjoying it, and that's a pity.
  15. Susanna #75

@beertje how long have you been pregnant again?
  16. Beertje123 started this #76

    Today 4 weeks
  17. Susanna #77

@beertje did you have an early ultrasound or are you just getting one at 8/9 weeks?
  18. Susanna #78

@beertje yeah, standard is indeed 8/9 weeks for the early scan, normally around 6 weeks And another midwife?
  19. Beertje123 started this #79

Yeah, I'll wait for this appointment first and then I'll just call them ^^
  20. Beertje123 started this #80

Oh my, waiting feels so long xD. Still waiting for that email with the date... I did take a test this morning though because I'm officially 2 days late now . One beautiful thick line and the Clear Blue that says I'm 2-3 weeks pregnant.
Today I'm going to tell my employer. Since I no longer fit into my work blouse... Long live bigger, fuller breasts haha.
